This year’s Tokyo Game Show is set to be the largest one yet, with organizers calling it “five full days of uninterrupted gaming excitement!”
The annual convention, usually held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, traditionally features two days for business professionals and two days open to the public. This year, however, it will include a third public day, taking advantage of the public holiday on Monday, September 21st.
Let us tell you, that Monday is going to get sweaty, folks!
The schedule is as follows:
- 17th September (Thu)
- Business Day 10:00 to 17:00
- 18th September (Fri)
- Business Day 10:00 to 17:00
- 19th September (Sat)
- Public Day 9:30 to 17:00
- 20th September (Sun)
- Public Day 9:30 to 17:00
- 21st September (Mon)
- Public Day 9:30 to 16:00
The event is still in the planning phases, and companies have until the end of May to register as exhibitors. We’ll share details about who’s participating later this year.
At last year’s event, Sony showcased several games, including the action-packed Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The game Ananta also generated a lot of excitement, drawing large crowds after attendees finally had a chance to play it.
As this year marks the event’s 30th anniversary, we anticipate a large showcase, possibly including highly anticipated games like the third part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Dragon Quest 12 (if it’s finished), and Stranger Than Heaven.
Fans are also eagerly awaiting news on Kingdom Hearts 4, and director Tetsuya Nomura says development is going very well.
We’re eager to find out what big games will be featured at this year’s Summer Game Fest. It’s likely to heavily influence what many publishers plan for the next year.
