HyperX’s Latest Wireless Gaming Headset Can Last Up to 250 Hours — Plus, New FlipCast Microphone Supports BOTH USB and XLR

Beyond introducing a sleek expansion to the HP OMEN hardware lineup, HP and HyperX unveiled an assortment of thoughtfully designed accessories – one of which could well be the missing piece to perfectly complement your setup.

Today, we are revealing not one but four new additions to our HyperX lineup: two wireless gaming headsets and two microphones. The anticipated successor to our highly acclaimed Cloud Alpha Wireless headset is certainly a must-watch for many enthusiasts, while the innovative FlipCast mic with its dual USB/XLR inputs is also generating quite a buzz.

For those preferring more affordable options, they might find appeal in the moderately featured HyperX Flight 2 gaming headset or the convenient, all-inclusive SoloCast 2 microphone. There’s a variety of choices available to suit diverse preferences, particularly for existing HyperX enthusiasts seeking an upgrade.

Initially, we possess two distinct microphones: one is the updated version of HyperX SoloCast 2, which is the successor to their affordable and adorable microphone. It retains its all-in-one USB condenser mic feature with a standard cardioid polar pattern, but this time it comes in a more squared shape.

As a fellow enthusiast seeking superior-quality, high-resolution recordings without splurging or setting up a professional-grade system, the SoloCast 2 might just be the perfect fit for you! Its affordability makes it a compelling choice.

Among the two microphones available, it’s clearly the FlipCast that stands out as the more intriguing option. This high-end microphone boasts a distinctive design and a notable special feature.

This microphone boasts not only a high resolution equivalent to the premium HyperX QuadCast 2 S (both utilizing the same 32-bit/192KHz sampling rate), but it offers versatility with support for both USB and XLR output. The FlipCast can function as a top-tier USB microphone in any scenario, yet is prepared to advance into advanced XLR configurations with audio mixers and studio equipment, even accommodating dual-PC streaming arrangements.

Additionally, I find myself appreciating the design too, particularly its elevated LED level monitor and built-in control panel. If the FlipCast lives up to its promise of quality and user-friendliness, it might just be the ideal microphone for those who anticipate requiring additional features down the line.

Moving forward, there are two fresh HyperX Cloud wireless gaming headsets available, catering to both general users and those seeking a more exclusive and distinctive experience in the premium category.

The brand-new, budget-friendly wireless gaming headset from HyperX is the HyperX Cloud Flight 2, boasting a modernized design with interchangeable magnetic panels and RGB illumination. Notably, this headset has been designed to be more versatile, offering swappable headbands, ear pads, and faceplates for customization.

Fundamentally speaking, it’s essentially a gaming headset from HyperX. It comes equipped with angled 50mm drivers by HyperX, a detachable boom microphone of 10mm, and the flexibility to switch between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth wireless modes, both featuring onboard controls. To add, it offers an impressive battery life of up to 100 hours. What sets it apart is that HyperX incorporated an internal microphone within the device, allowing you to still receive calls even if the main microphone is unavailable (although at a slightly lower quality).

For individuals who require it, there’s also an Xbox variant available, but unlike the versatile, primarily PC-oriented HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless headset, it doesn’t cater to everyone.

Initially, HyperX made improvements on the initial Alpha model by slimming down its design, incorporating Bluetooth functionality with multi-source mixing capabilities, and providing bigger, more immersive audio drivers for a better listening experience.

The longevity of the charge isn’t quite as stellar as its predecessor, yet the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 boasts an impressive battery life of up to 250 hours, making it a remarkable piece of technology. To sweeten the deal, HyperX is also offering a new RGB Base Station, equipped with a volume control, audio settings, and programmable macro buttons. This added feature might appeal more to certain users than others, but it certainly gives the Alpha 2 Wireless an edge in terms of uniqueness.

Keep following along, as I’m currently in Los Angeles together with HP, getting firsthand experience with these latest products. You can expect my early thoughts to be shared on Windows Central shortly.
