Similar to how Michael Myers keeps coming back in the Halloween movies, the Halloween video game from IllFonic is back with a new trailer! The trailer gives you a look at how the game plays, and most importantly, it now has a release date: September 8th on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Halloween is being called the most intense and frightening multiplayer game in the series so far. It’s an asymmetrical game where one player takes on the role of Michael Myers, while four others play as his potential victims. However, Michael doesn’t just randomly attack; he earns better rewards by eliminating specific people before time runs out.
One of his key skills is Killer Sense, which switches to a first-person view. The longer you observe something in this mode, the more advantages you gain for tracking and performing powerful attacks. He’s also incredibly mobile with Shape Jump, allowing him to move through solid objects undetected and reappear elsewhere. For a quick burst of speed, he can use Shape Dash.
The main challenge is that you have to hide in the dark or stay out of the killer’s view. This often leads to the killer trying to shut off the lights or cut power to the town. Interestingly, players can also use weapons and work together to escape Michael Myers. Even if you’re killed, you might get a second chance playing as a police officer or the famous Dr. Loomis.
IllFonic plans to share more information about their upcoming Halloween game in the months ahead, including how players will improve their characters, unlock special abilities, and customize their appearance. They’ve also confirmed the game will feature proximity chat, which promises to add to the suspense and fear, depending on whether you’re a hunter or the killer.
