Abolished Systems for Fair Competition / Mouse Controls
LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino explained that they removed certain features to make sure the game is fair for everyone, no matter what platform they’re playing on. Specifically, they took out features originally made for the Nintendo Switch – like the ability to switch between vertical and horizontal play, and using a stylus. These features would have been hard to add to other platforms, and they wanted the game to work well with cross-play.
The game will work with mouse controls on several platforms. It will be available on both the new Switch 2 and PC right away. PlayStation 5 players will get mouse control support through a future update. Unfortunately, mouse controls won’t be available on the original Switch or PlayStation 4. On the Switch 2, you can use the included Joy-Cons to control the game with a mouse.
We expect the Xbox Series X|S to also gain mouse support in a future update. While the developer discussed system specs, they didn’t specifically mention Xbox when detailing the update, even with the information displayed on screen.
Player Bank / Potential Sequel
According to Hino, the game boasts a massive roster of over 5,400 characters, but completing the collection will be a significant challenge. It’s likely to take a very long time to get them all, so players will be able to transfer their progress to future installments of the game.
Hino explained that you can store collected characters in a special area called the Player Bank. You’ll move characters between this bank and your game data to manage them. It’s a simple process, similar to how you might leave characters at an inn in other role-playing games.
So, the thing is, there are different versions of each character, and they all have unique skills. That means even with a massive 5,400 character storage limit, I might run out of space eventually. I guess I might have to delete some characters as I play, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll even get that many characters right off the bat anyway.
You can carry your progress and collected characters from this game into any future sequels. So, even if you don’t collect all of them now, you’ll be able to keep building your collection in the next game.
Inagle: Official Player Search System
On October 22nd, LEVEL-5 is launching “Inagle,” a new online system where players can search for and view stats for other players. You’ll be able to access it on your computer or phone. While not all information will be available right away, more details will be revealed when the game officially launches. LEVEL-5 is also planning to let users build and share their own teams.
Inazuma Eleven New Era Kickoff Eve Festival: Four-Hour Special Broadcast
Okay, so Level-5 is doing a four-hour livestream on November 10th for the new Inazuma Eleven game. They’re keeping everything a secret right now, but Hino hinted that a bunch of people who worked on the series will be showing up, which is pretty cool!
The new soccer game, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, will be released globally on November 13th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam).
