JoJo Siwa’s anniversary gift for Chris Hughes certainly made him happier than a kid in a candy store.

It’s been a year since the couple started dating, and the former Dance Moms star pulled out all the stops to mark the occasion.

JoJo surprised her partner with a performance of her new song, “Serendipity,” which she shared in a YouTube video on April 7th. It was a grand gesture – featuring 86 dancers and filmed with 24 hidden cameras to capture his reaction, all as a tribute to their relationship.

In a video, Chris—expecting to see a show with JoJo—walks into an empty theater with JoJo’s parents, including her mother, Jessalyn Siwa. The word “Serendipity” is shown on the stage in front of them.

Chris immediately recognized the song as a sweet reference to his relationship with JoJo. When the curtain rose, JoJo and the other performers were dancing to the new track – a vibrant performance that had taken five days to rehearse and featured elaborate costumes, complete with showgirl ostrich feathers, and plenty of color, just like JoJo herself.

Chris clapped after the show, but confessed he was still confused about what he had just seen.

He’s definitely grateful to have met JoJo a year ago while they were both on Celebrity Big Brother.

Chris marked their anniversary with an Instagram post, recalling the day they first connected a year ago. They shared that the first thing they ever said to their partner was, ‘You’re very colorful,’ and that vibrancy still shines through daily!

The 33-year-old was amazed at how quickly the year passed, saying it felt like just yesterday they left the Big Brother house, and calling it a ‘crazy universe’.

Meanwhile, the “Karma” singerwas obviously equally spinning over their whirlwind romance. 

JoJo reminisced, calling the past year “perfect and beautiful.” She said it feels both recent and distant, expressing deep gratitude for the experiences had, especially within a particular house, and hinting at a special memory connected to it.

Okay, so JoJo’s dated guys who were already famous before, but honestly? None of them ever felt like Chris. It’s like with all the others, something was always off, but Chris… he just feels right. It’s totally different this time, I can tell!

JoJo explained to TopMob News in October that it felt like fate brought them together. “It’s like the universe was saying, ‘You two are meant to be, and you’ll realize it,'” she said, adding that they had both been in previous relationships, which made this connection feel natural and effortless.

As she put it, “We have fun and we keep things light.”

Chris and JoJo seem like a promising couple, and JoJo has always been very open about her relationships. Here’s a look back at her dating history…

On August 1, 2020, a then-17-year-old JoJo Siwa happily shared who she was dating—someone special enough to make her forget her celebrity crushes on actors Patrick Dempsey and Zac Efron.

Oh my gosh, he’s just… perfect! I seriously can’t picture anyone else who could make me feel this way. I was telling Jessalynn Siwa – JoJo’s mom, you know – and I just couldn’t stop gushing about how incredible he is!

But by that November, the pair were no longer in harmony. 

JoJo Siwa defended her recent breakup with Mark, saying he doesn’t deserve negativity. She explained that they had a wonderful and happy relationship, and their decision to split was mutual and amicable. She asked people to respect Mark and understand they simply decided to go their separate ways.

JoJo Siwa and Kylie Prew first became friends on a cruise in 2020, but their relationship blossomed a year later. Siwa announced on Instagram in February 2021 that she had started dating Prew, calling her an exceptional person.

Siwa also thanked her girlfriend, calling her incredibly supportive and saying she encouraged her to be herself. She had already created content with Pride House, a group of LGBTQ+ TikTok creators, and posted a TikTok of herself dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” She was considering sharing a photo of a t-shirt that read “Best Gay Cousin Ever.”

I was telling JoJo Siwa about wanting to share a picture on my Reels, and she was instantly supportive! She basically told me to go for it, and I took her advice and posted it right away. It was so encouraging!

JoJo Siwa and her former partner moved in together, a decision Siwa now regrets, according to her April 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast. They broke up in October of the same year, but shared one last dance together in 2022.

JoJo Siwa told Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she and Avery Cyrus are still close and talk frequently.

JoJo Siwa revealed in March 2022 on the Rachel Uncensored podcast that she’s in a relationship and isn’t looking to date anyone else, stating, ‘I’m a loyal lady.’

She’d played the field, she continued, and snagged herself a catch in Katie Mills. 

Okay, so I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and working lately, really pushing myself, and honestly? It’s been amazing! I’ve learned so much, and I’m just… genuinely thrilled with where I’m at right now. It feels so good!

But safe to say her romance with the TikToker wasn’t all fun and games. 

After Siwa shared a video in March 2023 criticizing past relationships for excessive flattery and attention-seeking, Mills responded with some pointed comments of her own.

She publicly addressed the situation on TikTok, saying she was no longer going to stay silent. She questioned how someone could claim to love someone and then abruptly cut off contact, only to later accuse them of seeking attention and being overly affectionate online. She admitted she didn’t understand the mixed signals.

She also pointed out that Siwa was the one who first shared their relationship with the public, but Mills always asked for her permission before posting anything about it online. Mills emphasized that she has text messages to back up her claim, and warned people not to challenge her account.

It’s clear that Avery Cyrus, who briefly dated JoJo Siwa in 2022, hasn’t become a major star herself.

Celebrating 12 years together, the singer described her relationship as a dream come true. She told TopMob News that their strong connection comes from how well their personalities blend. She appreciates her partner’s positive outlook and feels they bring out the best in each other.

Things shifted in December, though. Just two days after Miley Cyrus announced their breakup, JoJo Siwa hinted online that someone had used her popularity for their own benefit.

In a video shared by her mother on Instagram in December 2022, she expressed feeling exploited for attention and popularity. She said she was deceived into believing someone cared for her and ultimately felt betrayed.

For Cyrus, though, their dalliance wasn’t a game. 

We ended things with JoJo on good terms and remain friends,” she told TopMob News. “Our connection was genuine, and I have a lot of love for JoJo and her family.

Dakayla Wilson finished as the runner-up on season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance, but she clearly made a strong impression on judge JoJo Siwa. Siwa revealed in an August TikTok video that she and Wilson became a couple, even taking time off from her own career to support Wilson as a dance assistant.

For months, Wilson was a wonderful dance partner. JoJo Siwa revealed that Wilson supported her desire to have triplets and generously spent $30,000 to celebrate her nineteenth birthday with a trip to Hawaii.

“I’m completely in love with her,” the former Nickelodeon star told TopMob News. “She’s an amazing person, and I feel so fortunate to have her in my life.”

But it turned out that Wilson wasn’t all Siwa wanted for Christmas. 

I was really sad when JoJo and I went our separate ways, but she’s truly an incredible person. She deserves all the happiness! I’m excited about my own holiday plans, and I know she’s enjoying a wonderful time with her family this year.

In January 2025, Siwa publicly announced she was dating Kath Ebbs, an Australian content creator, referring to her as her girlfriend.

Let me tell you, it was so lovely to see Ebbs and their partner sharing their happiness! They really put it out there for the world to see, posting adorable photos of them kissing and celebrating their love. Their Instagram caption – “Bit of queer joy for ya feed today!!” – was just the sweetest and a perfect way to spread some positivity.

Just three months later, Ebbs shared that they broke up at the wrap party for Celebrity Big Brother UK.

In an April 2025 TikTok, Ebbs explained that she’d been told there were mixed emotions about her, and that the other housemates had come to the conclusion they didn’t see a long-term future with her.

Okay, so everyone kept talking about how close I was to Chris, which, yes, we were super tight in the house! But honestly, it wasn’t like I could just swap him out for anyone. It really wasn’t! He was just…different. I kept telling people that, but they didn’t get it. It wasn’t a replaceable connection, not at all.

Honestly, filming really forced me to do some serious self-reflection. I found myself completely alone with my thoughts, away from all the noise and opinions of people I know. It was during that time, just me and my own mind, that I started to realize I’d been accepting things in my life that I shouldn’t have been. It was a huge turning point for me, and I finally understood what I needed to change.

Siwa didn’t win Celebrity Big Brother UK, but she found something even better on the show: a romantic connection with fellow contestant Chris Hughes. They became a couple after filming wrapped in spring 2025.

She excitedly told Keltie Knight of TopMob News at the opening of Universal’s Epic Universe on May 21st that Christopher is her favorite person to talk about. She quickly added, ‘That came out wrong—he’s my favorite person, not a ‘thing’!’

And, yet, she kept reiterating, they were just friends. Until they weren’t. 

JoJo Siwa confirmed in an interview with The Guardian in June 2025 that her relationship with her partner had become romantic. She described it as a wonderful progression, saying she’s deeply in love and he feels the same way.

She still feels the term “queer” best describes her identity and how she feels, but she prioritizes connecting with people as individuals rather than focusing on labels.

JoJo Siwa pointed out that there are many different ways people identify in terms of sexuality. She believes it’s wonderful when someone figures out who they are.
