Just one year after being released from prison, Todd Chrisley was eager to return to his normal life.
He described showering barefoot for the first time in over two years as an incredibly pleasurable experience, comparing it to “your first sexual encounter” in an interview with ABC News in July.
Just days after Todd Chrisley was released on May 28, 2025, his daughter Savannah Chrisley, 28, shared on her “Unlocked” podcast that his personality hadn’t changed. “Dad hasn’t lost his sense of humor,” she said. “He’s still just as lively and spirited as ever.”
Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie, were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022. They were sentenced to 12 and 7 years, respectively, but only served 28 months before being pardoned by President Donald Trump. The Chrisleys have consistently stated they are innocent and pleaded not guilty during the trial.
Oh my gosh, I still remember exactly a year ago! We were all SO worried, honestly heartbroken, wondering if things would ever get back to normal. I was listening to Todd on the latest episode of Two Sons and Me – seriously, if you don’t listen, you’re missing out! – and he said it himself. He and Chase and Grayson were talking about how far we’ve come, and it just hit me… look at us now! It’s amazing!
Although Todd and Julie’s time in prison felt like a major disruption to their family, it ultimately proved to be a temporary setback in their public lives. Their children, including Lindsie Chrisley, 36, and Chloe Chrisley, 13, were particularly affected while they were away.

Chase explained on an October episode of Chrisley Confessions 2.0 that his family fell apart after his parents restarted their podcast just 49 days after what Todd jokingly referred to as an “extended vacation.” He added that they weren’t filming or doing any of their usual activities.
While Todd and Julie Chrisley were both in prison—Todd in Florida and Julie in Kentucky—their daughter Savannah and other family members agreed to star in a new reality show for Lifetime.
Just days after Todd and Julie Chrisley received pardons, filming began on their new reality show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, documenting their lives after their release.
Julie, who quickly went back to being a blonde after briefly having brown hair when she was released, recently told Tamron Hall that being on TV felt both like a distant memory and just yesterday.

Although a second season of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality never happened, Savannah and Todd Chrisley later appeared on The Masked Singer as the Croissants. Todd explained that the name was a tribute to Savannah’s late ex-fiancé, Nic Kerdiles, who was French.
Julie told TopMob News that Todd is a talented singer, but she and her husband of three decades were primarily excited about the opportunity because it was a shared activity they could enjoy as a couple.
Todd explained to Gold Derby that after being eliminated in January, he intentionally chose to perform “Jailhouse Rock” as a way to prove the critics wrong and show them he’d get to that song before they even complained about him not doing it.
The couple shared that they were involved in several video projects. Julie mentioned she was developing a cooking show, potentially with a unique take on meals inspired by prison food, and another project with Savannah. Todd added that he had a project underway in the United Kingdom.
After being released from prison, the couple moved into Savannah’s house in Nashville. However, they were thinking about moving back to their home state of South Carolina, depending on how their current work projects went, Todd explained to People magazine in August. He told ABC News that their ultimate goal was to buy a large home in South Carolina and turn it into a hotel, which would also be the focus of a new TV show.
And, in the meantime, he and Julie have their podcasts.
Grayson joked that the fact he was appearing on his parents’ podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0, showed things weren’t going smoothly. He recently finished a semester at the University of Alabama and playfully described his life as ‘living the dream, one nightmare at a time’.
So, the whole family’s sense of humor remains intact in the wake of all that’s happened.

Todd shared with Variety in January that many people facing similar hardships experience a complete breakdown in their lives, feeling like everything is lost. He expressed gratitude that he and his family were fortunate enough to avoid that outcome.
Reflecting on their future and the comforts awaiting him and Julie after their release, he said this difficult time had been a humbling experience for his family. It also opened their eyes to the lives of people they likely wouldn’t have met otherwise. He expressed gratitude for their current situation and emphasized how much he appreciated being home and not taking anything for granted.
Okay, so Todd said the sweetest thing on Two Sons and Me last night, May 18th! He was talking to Grayson and Chase, and it just hit me so hard. He basically said that if anyone should learn anything from his life, it’s to really savor every single moment. He said they’re so fleeting, and honestly? He’s SO right. I’ve been thinking about it all day, and it just makes me want to appreciate everything more. It was just… perfect. Seriously, Todd is a genius.
Now that Todd and Julie Chrisley are enjoying life after their release, let’s take a look at the entire Chrisley family.

Todd Chrisley is the head of the Chrisley family. Born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina, he first married Teresa Terry and they had two children, Lindsie and Kyle, before divorcing. In 1996, he married Julie Chrisley (born in South Carolina in January 1973), and together they expanded their family with children Chase, Savannah, and Grayson, as well as adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe. The family faced challenges, including Julie’s battle with and recovery from breast cancer in 2012.
Before becoming known for reality television, Todd built a successful real estate business, which he stated accounted for the majority of the family’s income. Julie was working at a bank when she and Todd began dating. The family’s life was documented in the show Chrisley Knows Best, which aired from 2014 to 2023 and led to spin-offs like Growing Up Chrisley and What’s Cooking With Julie?, as well as various podcasts.
In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and tax crimes and initially sentenced to 12 and 7 years in prison, respectively. They maintained their innocence. However, in May 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned them, leading to their release from prison.

Lindsie Todd, born in September 1989, is the oldest child of Todd and Teresa. She went to Georgia State University, where she met and later married Will Campbell in 2012. That same year, she graduated and gave birth to their son, Jackson. Two years later, the reality show Chrisley Knows Best debuted, featuring Lindsie and Will. Over five seasons, the show documented the couple’s struggles, and they eventually filed for divorce in 2016, with Lindsie leaving the show in 2017.
Following the divorce, Lindsie became estranged from her family, and it wasn’t until 2022 that she publicly reunited with Todd, Julie, and Savannah on their respective podcasts. Todd admitted on Chrisley Confessions that while the estrangement was unexpected, it was ultimately necessary. However, this reconciliation didn’t last. By March 2025, Lindsie revealed on her podcast, The Southern Tea, that she hadn’t seen her father in a while, and the following month, she confirmed she was also estranged from her siblings.
Lindsie explained on Cate & Ty Break It Down that despite a lack of alignment, there was no animosity between them, simply that they no longer fit into each other’s lives. Following the pardon of Julie and Todd in May 2025, Lindsie posted a hopeful message on Instagram, stating, “With God all things are possible.”

Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd Chrisley’s oldest son from his marriage to Teresa. He has a daughter, Chloe, born in November 2012, with his ex-partner Angela Johnson, but Todd and Julie legally adopted her in 2016.
Kyle was primarily on the first season of Chrisley Knows Best (with a quick appearance in 2021), but his past legal issues and complicated relationship with his family – which included periods of estrangement and reconciliation – often made news. He’s been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health, and announced on Facebook in 2019 that he was sober.
In 2021, Kyle married Ashley Nelson and became a stepfather to her children, Haiden and Mackenzie.
He hopes to rebuild his relationship with Todd and Julie after they are released from prison. In May 2025, he told TopMob News, “I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

Chase Chrisley, born in June 1996, is the oldest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He’s known for appearing on the reality shows Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley alongside his family, particularly his sister Savannah from 2019-2022.
Chase was previously engaged to Emmy Medders, but they ended their relationship in 2023. He later began dating Jodi Laine Fournerat, and often shares photos of her, and his grandmother Nanny Faye Chrisley, on Instagram.
Following his parents’ imprisonment, Chase spoke about how the experience brought him and his siblings closer together, stating they chose to support each other through the difficult time.
In January 2025, Chase was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a bar manager. His lawyers responded by saying the incident was exaggerated and that he did not assault anyone, and they were conducting their own investigation.
Beyond television, Chase is also a businessman, having launched both a candle brand and a roofing company.

Savannah Chrisley was born to Todd and Julie Chrisley in August 1997. She began her career competing in pageants, winning Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016. She then gained further recognition appearing on reality shows like Chrisley Knows Best, Growing Up Chrisley, The Masked Singer, and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Beyond television, Savannah works as a real estate agent in Tennessee, founded Good Girl RX, and hosts the Unlocked podcast.
Savannah became engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019, but they separated in 2020. Tragically, Kerdiles passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2023. She later dated Robert Shiver, but they ended their relationship in April 2025 after two years.
While her parents, Julie and Todd, were incarcerated, Savannah took legal custody of her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, and actively campaigned for their release. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she powerfully shared that the numbers ‘72600019’ and ‘72601019’ represent her parents’ inmate identification numbers and hold deep personal meaning.
Following a pardon from Donald Trump, Julie and Todd were released from prison. Savannah documented their return home, sharing a joyful video with the message, “Reunited and it feels so good.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the Chrisley family for a while, and it’s been amazing to watch Grayson grow up. He’s Todd and Julie’s youngest, born in May 2006, and really came into the public eye when Chrisley Knows Best first aired. Now he’s a student at the University of Alabama, where he’s definitely recognized! He recently shared on Savannah’s Unlocked podcast that the attention on campus has been a bit overwhelming, but in a good way.
When Todd and Julie faced legal challenges, Savannah stepped up and gained custody of Grayson and Chloe. She’s always been so open about how much this means to her, and how she approaches her role as a ‘bonus parent.’ She’s made it clear she isn’t trying to replace their parents, but simply to love and guide them. It’s been a tough but incredibly rewarding experience for her, and you can really see the special bond she has with both kids.
In fact, on Grayson’s 18th birthday, Savannah shared a beautiful message on Instagram, saying that everyone thinks she ‘saved him,’ but really, he saved her. It’s a testament to the power of family and the unexpected ways love can blossom, even in challenging circumstances. It’s truly heartwarming to witness.

Chloe came into Todd and Julie Chrisley’s lives as the daughter of their son, Kyle, and his former partner, Angela Johnson, in November 2012. They initially acted as her grandparents, but officially adopted her four years later. Julie expressed her immense joy about Chloe, calling her a source of great happiness for the family.
Fans followed Todd and Julie raising Chloe—known as CoCo within the family—on their reality show, Chrisley Knows Best. When Todd and Julie went to prison, their daughter, Savannah, stepped in as Chloe’s guardian.
Savannah often shares her love and admiration for Chloe, writing on Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023 about how much Chloe has taught her and how she inspires everyone around her.
After Todd and Julie received a pardon from President Trump, Savannah revealed that Chloe was cautiously optimistic, worried something might still go wrong. However, Savannah expressed her excitement about reuniting with her father and bringing him home to Chloe.

Faye Chrisley, affectionately known as “Nanny,” is the mother of Todd Chrisley. He publicly expressed his deep love and gratitude for her on Mother’s Day 2021, sharing how much she fills his life with love, hope, and faith.
Born in South Carolina in September 1944, Nanny married army veteran Gene Chrisley and together they had three sons: Todd, Randy, and Derrick. Sadly, their youngest son, Derrick, passed away as a baby, and Gene also died in 2012.
Nanny became a fan favorite on the show Chrisley Knows Best thanks to her lively personality, fun relationship with her sister Frances (who passed away in 2022), her dating life, and her wise advice. She always showed viewers how to enjoy life, whether she was at the casino, enjoying a glass of wine, or spending time with her family.
Despite her cheerful spirit, Nanny has faced challenges. In addition to the legal troubles of her son Todd and his wife Julie, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. Thankfully, she announced in 2023 that she was in remission and feeling well.
Nanny approaches life with resilience and positivity. As she shared on a podcast, she believes in making the best of any situation, saying, “You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
