The animated series Invincible is back on Prime Video with Season 4, and one of its creators shared exciting news about what’s ahead. Since its release, Invincible has been a huge success for Prime Video, leading to multiple season renewals. Even before Season 4 arrived, a fifth season was already confirmed, meaning fans won’t have to wait long to find out what happens next with Mark.
I’ve been watching the new season of Invincible on Prime Video, and it’s only a few episodes in, but I was surprised to hear they’re already working on Season 5! It seems like the show has settled into a pattern of releasing new seasons roughly once a year. I recently read an interview with co-creator Robert Kirkman where he hinted that Season 5 will likely follow the same schedule. When asked about a release date, he didn’t give anything definitive, but suggested they’re aiming for around April again. It sounds like that’s the general timeframe we can expect, though nothing is set in stone.
Invincible Creators Teases Season 5’s 2027 Release
I recently heard from Robert Kirkman, one of the creators of Invincible, that they’re in the final stages of production for Season 5. They’re receiving the finished animation and working on things like re-recording dialogue and making small adjustments. Simon Racciopa, the other co-showrunner, explained they’ve moved into post-production, but it’s a lengthy process – not something that will be finished quickly. Kirkman also mentioned they actually started voice recording for the new season quite a while ago, and it’s going to continue for some time to come.
Kirkman jokingly said the team won’t rest until they’re exhausted. When asked about a potential release date for Invincible Season 5 – specifically March 2027 – he admitted there’s a pattern to releases, but couldn’t give a firm answer. He suggested a release could happen in April, May, or even January, but remained unsure. He did say they’re aiming for a similar timeframe and that production on Season 5 is progressing well, which is encouraging.
What’s Next for Invincible?

New episodes of Invincible Season 4 are currently being released, and the season will conclude on April 22nd, as announced by Prime Video. Mark is facing immense challenges after the events of Season 3, and things are only getting harder for him. Fortunately, with a fifth season already confirmed, the show can develop even bigger storylines for the future.
Robert Kirkman, one of the creators of Invincible, has said the animated series would likely need between seven and nine seasons to cover the entire comic book storyline. However, if the show remains successful on Prime Video, they may expand beyond the original material. They’ve already added new scenes not found in the comics, which suggests the future of the series could be even bigger than initially planned.
