Now that Invincible Vs is out, players are getting their first real experience with the 3v3 fighting game, and while many are enjoying it, some issues are starting to surface. Players love the game’s quick, hard-hitting action and the variety of moves each character offers. However, not all of the game’s features are popular, and some players have voiced complaints about certain modes since the game launched.
Even after the game launched, players still frequently quit ranked matches in Invincible Vs, but this isn’t necessarily a flaw in the game itself. A lot of players are new to fighting games and were drawn in by the Invincible animated series or comics. Because of this, the game has a larger number of casual players who may find it too challenging compared to other superhero games and ultimately stop playing.
Lack Of Single-Player Content And Strange Cosmetic Costs Are Invincible Vs’ Greatest Setbacks

A major letdown in Invincible Vs is its short and limited single-player Story mode. While the game offers Tutorials, Practice modes, and character challenges to help players learn the ropes and combos, most fans were really looking forward to the Story. Considering it was written by Robert Kirkman, the creator of the Invincible comics, expectations were high for a compelling new addition to the series.
Despite being led by Kirkman, the Invincible Vs story feels like a brief, inconsequential side-episode of the Amazon animated series – full of action, but lacking depth. Its biggest flaw is its short length; it can be completed in around an hour even on the standard difficulty setting. Players choosing the harder Viltrumite difficulty won’t take much longer, and those on Easy mode will finish even faster, leaving many feeling disappointed with the overall experience.
The game has a few other minor problems, including the high cost of cosmetic items. While playing Invincible Vs, you can unlock new looks for characters by mastering them, encouraging players to try out different fighters. However, most of the unlockable cosmetics are just profile pictures, backgrounds, or basic color changes. The in-game store does offer completely new character skins—like alternate versions of Invincible from other universes—but they’re very expensive.
For instance, a single skin for Allen the Alien costs $4.99, making it the most affordable option in the store. Other skins, like Mohawk Mark, are much pricier at $9.99. Currently, buying all available skins costs around $44.95, and this price is expected to rise with the addition of new characters and looks. Considering the Deluxe Edition and Character Pass for Invincible Vs are also available for purchase, customizing your experience can become quite expensive.
Future Content Plans Could Easily Address Invincible Vs’ Biggest Problems To Keep Players Invested

Some players defend the high cost of character skins by pointing out that they offer different color options, but this reason could be stronger. Adding unique voice lines or altered special move animations to skins might actually justify the higher price. Other fighting games, like 2XKO, have tried similar things, though with varying degrees of success.
Updates and patches can fix issues with the game, including the debated Sudden Death feature, as Invincible Vs continues to evolve. The game could also be expanded with new Seasons or Character Passes, adding more story content like extra chapters for the single-player mode. Each character also has unique arcade endings, giving players a reason to keep playing and discover alternate storylines for their favorite heroes.
The game’s endings will grow as more characters are added – and rumors suggest many more are on the way! Each new character could also bring fresh game modes and improvements, keeping things interesting for long-time players. However, to really succeed, these updates need to come out more frequently than in games like Street Fighter 6, which typically has major updates only a few times a year.
While the current version of this 3v3 tag fighter feels a bit basic in terms of features – likely due to its focused design – players are really enjoying the impressive animations in Story mode and the overall fun gameplay. With some improvements and by listening to player feedback, Invincible Vs has the potential to become a top-tier fighting game, joining the ranks of other promising titles expected in 2026.
