Is Battlefield 6 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
Battlefield 6 won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass right when it’s released, which is disappointing for subscribers. But there’s a chance it could be added later. Once it’s included with the EA Play service, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play it.
Battlefield 6 won’t be on Game Pass at launch …
2025 has been a fantastic year for gaming, especially for players who enjoy single-player or co-op adventures, with popular titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Borderlands 4 leading the way. While there haven’t been as many big multiplayer releases, that’s about to change with the launch of Battlefield 6 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5 – it could be the biggest multiplayer shooter of the year.
Recent Battlefield games, like Battlefield V and especially Battlefield 2042, haven’t quite lived up to expectations. However, the upcoming Battlefield 6 looks promising. Its open beta in August was a huge hit – even more popular than a Call of Duty beta – and anticipation for the game, launching on October 10th, is incredibly high.
Many gamers are now asking if the new first-person shooter will be available on Xbox Game Pass. This subscription service lets players access a huge library of games for a monthly fee. Even though the price recently went up, Game Pass remains very popular, and new games often become available on it right when they’re released, whether they’re made by Microsoft or another company.
Bad news for Game Pass fans: Battlefield 6 won’t be included when it launches later this week. If it *were* coming to the service, both EA and Microsoft would be making a big deal about it, and the lack of any announcements confirms it won’t be.
Most players will need to purchase Battlefield 6 for $69.99 to play. However, it will also be available through a different service, and eventually, it will be included with Game Pass.
… but it will be playable on Ultimate in the future

Battlefield 6 won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass when it first releases, but it *will* be on EA Play Pro. EA Play Pro is EA’s premium subscription service that costs $16.99 per month and gives you access to their new games on day one. That means if you’re an EA Play Pro member, you can start playing Battlefield 6 as soon as it’s released.
A major drawback of EA Play Pro is that it’s only available on computers, meaning PlayStation and Xbox players can’t use it. However, there’s good news: once the next Battlefield game is added to the regular EA Play membership (which usually happens within 6 to 12 months of a new release), console players will be able to play it through that service.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers already have access to EA Play, so they won’t need to pay extra to play Battlefield 6 when it’s available through that service. However, it appears Battlefield 6 won’t be released on the Xbox app for Windows.
As I understand it, while Battlefield 6 won’t be *directly* available through Game Pass initially, subscribers will eventually be able to play it via Ultimate. There’s a possibility it could come to the standard Game Pass in the future, but the key takeaway is that Microsoft subscribers will ultimately have access to what looks like a top contender for both Xbox and PC game of the year.
