Even though “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” has already premiered in Japanese cinemas, international fans must exercise patience as the movie won’t hit U.S. screens until September 12th, 2025. The highly anticipated film is set to conclude the trilogy, with the initial installment featuring a significant showdown between Tanjiro and Akaza, hinted at in previews. Ever since joining the “Demon Slayer” Corps, Tanjiro has made rapid progress, mastering the Water Breathing Technique under the tutelage of Urokodaki, the former Water Hashira, in a relatively brief period of time.
As Tanjiro persisted in his mission to heal his sister, he engaged in numerous battles against demons, many of whom were proficient in Blood Demon Art. The harder the fights grew, the more Tanjiro surpassed his boundaries and accessed the first-ever Sun Breathing Technique, a formidable skill. So far, Tanjiro hasn’t completely mastered this legendary technique, but with the climax approaching, he now faces some of the strongest demons ever known to history.

Tanjiro Rises to a New Power Level in Demon Slayer’s Infinity Castle Arc
As an observer, I’ve noticed that whenever Tanjiro gets embroiled in significant battles, there’s a distinct change in the mark on his forehead – a clear indication of his growth, a detail that Demon Slayer fans are well-acquainted with by now. During the Entertainment District Arc, this mark started to resemble Yoriichi’s, the founder of the Sun Breathing Technique, more closely. This transformation continued right up until the final confrontation. Moreover, the grueling training Tanjiro underwent during the Hashira Training Arc wasn’t without purpose. It significantly boosted his physical prowess, a fact evident in his battle against Akaza. However, at that stage, there was still uncertainty about whether he had the strength to become a Hashira.
Regardless of the effort and hardship Tanjiro endured in becoming stronger, Upper Moon Three, Akaza, presented a formidable challenge for him and Giyu. In the heat of battle, Tanjiro unexpectedly tapped into powers he didn’t know he possessed. Fighting alongside Giyu, the Water Hashira, they were no longer just protecting each other, as in the Mount Natagumo Arc. Instead, they fought on equal terms. As a result, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that after his impressive power-up during the fight with Akaza, Tanjiro displayed the potential of a Hashira, a title given to the most skilled Demon Slayers.
