Top Hat Studios and Kyle Thompson have launched the Metroidvania game *Islets* on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
The game *Islets* became available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (through Steam and GOG) on August 24, 2022.
Here is an overview of the game, via Top Hat Studios:
About
I’m playing this game as Iko, and honestly, it’s awesome! I’m basically a rookie warrior trying to piece together this broken world of floating islands. I’ve got this old, kinda shaky airship, and I’m flying around trying to get each island working again – it involves reigniting their magnetic cores, which sounds way more complicated than it is. Of course, there are tons of enemies trying to stop me, so it’s a constant fight just to get from one island to the next!
Islets is a heartwarming Metroidvania where building relationships is key. As you reconnect islands and make friends with the delightful characters you meet, the world grows, unlocking new areas for you to explore as Iko. Be sure to search everywhere – there are lots of hidden upgrades and challenges to discover!
There’s a tour guide available, but be cautious – something feels off about them.
Key Features
- Connect the islands like a puzzle to discover new ways to explore previous areas and reunite the vast world around you.
