It’s Officially the End of a 12-Year Era for the Arrowverse

When Arrow left Netflix in December 2025, it officially ended the run of the Arrowverse. This shared DC universe on television started in 2012 with Stephen Amell as the Green Arrow in the CW series, Arrow. It grew to include shows like The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Although Arrow finished airing on the CW in 2019 after the big Crisis on Infinite Earths event, it continued to be available on Netflix until last month, marking the complete conclusion of the Arrowverse on the streaming platform.

After twelve years, the series Arrow finished streaming on Netflix on December 18, 2025, effectively concluding its run on the platform and marking a significant change for fans of the Arrowverse. With Arrow no longer available on Netflix, it will be more difficult for viewers to watch the entire series.

The first season of the show became available on Netflix in late 2013, and new seasons followed every year after airing on The CW (Season 2 started streaming on September 14, 2014). This arrangement was part of a larger deal between Netflix and The CW throughout the 2010s, giving Netflix the rights to these shows for at least five years after the last season was added.

The popular show Arrow nearly didn’t stay on Netflix for its entire 12-season run. In July 2020, What’s on Netflix predicted it would leave in February 2025, shortly after the show’s final season became available on February 5, 2020. However, this was just an estimate from the website.

Starting in October 2023, the show Arrow was taken off Netflix in countries outside of the US. Later, the planned removal date shifted from February to December 18, 2025, before it was ultimately removed. This marks the end of its 12-year presence on the streaming platform.

Created by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg, Arrow tells the story of Oliver Queen, who returns to Starling City and becomes a masked crime fighter dedicated to cleaning up the city’s corruption. The show stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Caity Lotz, Colton Haynes, and Willa Holland. Arrow first aired on The CW on October 10, 2012, and concluded after eight seasons on January 28, 2020.

When Are the Other Arrowverse Shows Leaving Netflix?

Although Arrow is no longer available on Netflix as of December 2025, fans in the United States can still stream other shows from the Arrowverse, including all nine seasons of The Flash, all six seasons of Supergirl, all seven seasons of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and the four seasons of Black Lightning.

With the conclusion of Arrow, the Arrowverse is poised for significant changes, potentially leading to the end of other popular shows within that DC universe. According to What’s on Netflix, here’s a look at when we might see the remaining Arrowverse series return.

Next to leave the streaming service will be Black Lightning around September 2026, and then Supergirl, starring Melissa Benoist, in December 2026.

With two popular Arrowverse series already gone, DC fans will face another tough year in 2027 when DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is removed from streaming in September. Then, in November 2028, The Flash will be the last Arrowverse show to leave Netflix, completing the lineup’s change.
