It’s the Perfect Time to Get Back Into My Hero Academia

As a huge fan, I’m so excited that *My Hero Academia* is wrapping up its final season! It’s the perfect time to revisit the anime if you’ve taken a break. When it first came out almost ten years ago, *My Hero Academia* by Kohei Horikoshi was absolutely massive. But honestly, like with any show that runs for a long time, the hype cooled off a bit. It feels like the series isn’t getting *quite* the same reaction it did back in its prime, and that’s a little sad, but I’m still totally invested in seeing how it all ends!

Despite a lot of effort, it’s understandable that some shows get overlooked – that’s just how the entertainment industry works. New anime series come out constantly, creating a lot of competition for viewers. It’s even more challenging when hugely popular shows like *Demon Slayer* dominate the scene. However, now feels like the perfect time to conclude *My Hero Academia*.

What Happened With My Hero Academia’s Anime?

Let’s recap how *My Hero Academia* arrived at this point. It’s clear the series isn’t as popular as it once was, and that’s likely due to a few less-successful seasons recently. The show started incredibly strong; the first season, with its single cour, was one of the first major *Shonen Jump* series to really take advantage of releasing episodes in seasonal blocks instead of weekly.

The first two seasons were particularly strong because the team at studio Bones had plenty of time to carefully create each new set of episodes. They included several memorable scenes that really broadened the appeal of *My Hero Academia*, and fans came to expect at least one major, standout moment in each season. The series consistently built towards impactful climaxes, which were heavily scrutinized. However, this approach had a downside: if a climax didn’t resonate with fans, it could significantly lower their overall opinion of the entire season.

Things began to change with Season 4 of *My Hero Academia*. The first half wrapped up the intense Shie Hassaikai arc with Deku’s powerful 100% One For All move, but the following Culture Festival arc proved controversial. While it ultimately proved important for setting up future storylines and major events in the final season, many viewers at the time felt it lacked the excitement of what came before. The real split in opinion, however, began with Seasons 5 and 6.

While *My Hero Academia* is a popular anime, it isn’t without flaws. The fifth and sixth seasons were particularly uneven, with some story arcs not as compelling as earlier ones, and one feeling rushed. The anime adaptation of the Meta Liberation Army arc was significantly shortened and sped up compared to the manga, which unfortunately led to some viewers losing interest.

Why Jump Back Into My Hero Academia Now?

So, why revisit *My Hero Academia* now that the series is complete? It’s a great time to finish watching the anime, especially if you started it a while ago. While there’s a bit to catch up on depending on where you left off, it’s definitely worth it. The excitement from the early seasons is back in Season 7 and continues in Season 8, with the same attention to detail and care given to important scenes. Season 8, in particular, is delivering some truly spectacular moments.

My Hero Academia is known for its incredibly intense and exciting climaxes. Each story arc carefully builds to a peak moment, and the anime consistently delivers on those moments. Now, as the series reaches its final climax, it’s finally paying off everything it’s been building towards over the years. This climax feels like the culmination of all previous events, making the long-term investment in the show truly worthwhile.

Don’t hesitate to start watching now, even if you’re new to the series! It’s a thrilling ride to the finish line, no matter how much of the story you’ve seen so far. The ending is going to be epic, so be sure to catch *My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON* on Crunchyroll or Hulu.
