Despite temporarily removing Celebrity Big Brother from its schedule this year, ITV has confirmed it still plans to broadcast the reality show in the future.
The popular celebrity version of the reality show originally started on Channel 4 in 2001. It later moved to Channel 5, and most recently premiered on ITV1 in 2024.

Jack P. Shepherd, known for his role on Coronation Street, won the most recent episode. The episode also featured American actor Mickey Rourke being removed from the house due to inappropriate language and actions directed at singer JoJo Siwa.

Okay, so it looks like Google’s reCAPTCHA is blocking me from seeing whatever this is. Apparently, I need to log out of Contentpass first. Ugh, sometimes these security things are such a pain, but I guess I’ll try that to get to the good stuff – hopefully it’s a trailer or something cool!
This announcement follows comments made by Kevin Lygo, Director of Television, during a discussion about the show’s future at the 2025 Edinburgh TV Festival.
According to Lygo, the plan is to bring back Celebrity Big Brother, but not on ITV’s main channel. He explained that it’s become very challenging to secure well-known celebrities for the main channel, and a move to ITV2 allows for a more diverse and specialized cast.
We’re currently negotiating the cost of the show with Banijay. It performs very well on ITVX and is a key program for us. I’m a big fan, and it consistently delivers great results, so we’re definitely planning to bring it back.

ITV has confirmed that both Celebrity Big Brother and the regular Big Brother will continue after 2025. Details about when new seasons will air will be announced later.
The show is still one of our most popular reality programs, recently reaching 150 million views on ITVX.
Instead, viewers can look forward to several new shows this year, such as I’m A Celebrity: South Africa, The Summit, Nobody’s Fool, and The Neighbourhood.
Celebrity Big Brother can be streamed on ITVX.
