Ja Rule is always on time for his loved ones.
He’s excited to create new memories with his expanding family. The rapper, known for his song “What’s Luv,” shared the news that his daughter, Brittney Aitken, and her husband, Tevin Aitken, are expecting a baby.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, announced on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show on October 16th that he’s going to be a grandfather. He playfully admitted the title felt strange to him.
The 49-year-old then described how Brittney shared the happy news in a really sweet way with him and his wife, Aisha Atkins. They are also parents to sons Jeffrey Atkins Jr., 25, and Jordan Atkins, 20.
She presented the sonogram in a box along with a card announcing that we were going to be grandparents. She told us she had a gift for us, and we genuinely thought it was something tangible—and it *was* a gift, of course! But when we opened the box, we realized she’d been filming us with a camera, capturing our reactions. It was a truly wonderful moment.
With a grandchild on the way, the co-founder of the infamous Fyre Festival has chosen a new nickname for himself: “Big Poppa,” referencing the classic 1994 song by The Notorious B.I.G.
This heartwarming news follows Brittney and Tevin’s wedding in March, which was inspired by *The Great Gatsby*. The couple, who got engaged in September 2023, had a small, private ceremony at Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in New York. Brittney honored the wedding’s theme by wearing a beautiful white dress and a pearl headpiece reminiscent of the flapper style.

Brittney told *People* magazine that marrying her best friend was a dream come true. She explained they wanted a wedding filled with love, a place where everyone could share in their happiness and witness their connection as they built a life together.
After all, she’s confident that she’s found the love of her life.
She explained that they always find common ground, even if it means respectfully accepting their differences. They appreciate each other’s enthusiasm and unique perspectives, constantly learning from and supporting one another.
