Amazon has finished its four-season run of the Jack Ryan TV show with John Krasinski, but the story isn’t over. Krasinski’s character will continue in at least one movie, with the first one coming to streaming services in just a few months.
The new film, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, will be available on Amazon Prime Video, the same platform that streamed the Jack Ryan series from 2018 to 2023. John Krasinski reprises his role as Jack Ryan and also helped write the screenplay, while Andrew Bernstein directed the movie.
Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly return from the TV series, playing James Greer and Mike November again. Joining the cast is Sienna Miller, who plays MI6 officer Emma Marlowe.
Here’s the first trailer for the film.
If you’re facing a dangerous and unusual situation, forget calling the Ghostbusters. Jack Ryan is the one you need – he deals with international conflicts and threats, not ghosts. Leave ghost-hunting to the professionals in that field!
Here is Jack Ryan: Ghost War’s synopsis:
The new film throws Jack Ryan back into the dangerous world of international spying when a secret operation goes wrong and reveals a deadly plot. He’s forced to confront a shadowy black-ops group, and time is running out. Working against the clock with lives at stake, Jack teams up once again with experienced CIA veterans Mike November and James Greer. They’re the only ones who might be able to outsmart an enemy that seems to anticipate their every move. This time, Jack is joined by Emma Marlowe, a brilliant MI6 agent, as they unravel a web of deceit and face a threat from their past. It’s their most challenging and personal mission yet.
Jack Ryan: Ghost War premieres on Prime Video on May 20.
15 Most Random Actors Who Have Somehow Gotten Their Own Action Figures

Kenneth Branagh (Wild Wild West)
It’s rare for actors playing knights to get their own action figures, but Kenneth Branagh is an exception! He received a figure as part of the toy line for the movie Wild Wild West, where he played the villain Dr. Loveless. The character used a steam-powered wheelchair – or sometimes spider-like legs – to move around. While the figure isn’t a perfect likeness, it does a good job of capturing his eccentric costume and makeup from the film.

Bradley Cooper (The A-Team)
Okay, so everyone knows Bradley Cooper voices Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, but if you’re hoping for an action figure of Bradley Cooper himself, it’s a little weird. You’ll actually have to track down a toy from the 2010 A-Team movie! That’s right, alongside Liam Neeson and the rest of the crew. Honestly, though, this Bradley Cooper figure… it’s not flattering. The hairline is… questionable. It almost looks like someone deliberately tried to make it look bad!

Jane Curtain (Coneheads)
Believe it or not, there’s a line of action figures based on the Coneheads movie, which came out many years after the original TV show! Even Jane Curtin, a famous cast member from Saturday Night Live, got two figures made of her character – one in her alien costume and another in everyday clothes. Apparently, these toys were a huge hit in France, the Coneheads’ fictional home country.

Paul Giamatti (Planet of the Apes)
In the toy industry, “toyetic” describes characters with visually striking designs that easily translate into action figures. Even when Planet of the Apes movies aren’t very good – like Tim Burton’s 2001 remake – they’re still highly “toyetic.” The toy line for Burton’s film included figures of the human characters played by Mark Wahlberg, Estella Warren, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tim Roth, and even Paul Giamatti as the villainous orangutan slave trader, Limbo. It’s true – back in 2001, they were selling action figures of a slave trader to kids.

Hugh Grant (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves)
Growing up, I always wished there was an action figure of Hugh Grant like the one from the movie Nine Months. It finally happened in 2023, with a figure based on his role in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. While the figure looks pretty accurate, Grant wasn’t a fan. He jokingly complained on The Late Late Show that it made him look like he was wearing a large blue diaper and even suggested they burn it! That’s a harsh critique.

Werner Herzog (The Mandalorian)
I actually have this Werner Herzog action figure! I found it on sale a few years ago and couldn’t resist buying it – the idea of owning a little figure based on his appearance in the first season of The Mandalorian was too funny. Now it sits on my shelf, and I like to imagine it silently judging all my Spider-Man toys. I always picture it saying something like, “Spider-Man, you know nothing of the deep chaos hidden beneath the surface of everyday life. There’s no real power or responsibility, only the pain of existence, endlessly echoing through time.”

Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park)
Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park started a hugely successful movie series and also sparked a line of dinosaur toys that has been consistently popular ever since. While the toys have become very realistic over the years, the original ones released in 1993 weren’t quite as impressive. For instance, the figure of Wayne Knight (best known as Newman!) depicted him as a stern-looking man in a green turtleneck, sunglasses, and a gun holster. This was based on the memorable scene where Dennis Nedry, frustrated with everything at Jurassic Park, armed himself and started shooting raptors – a truly thrilling moment in the film.

Barry Pepper (Battlefield Earth)
It’s true – Battlefield Earth even had action figures made of its characters! It makes sense, since kids enjoy playing with the memorable villains like the Psychlo aliens, Terl and Ker. Of course, you need a hero to fight them, so they also created a figure of Barry Pepper’s character, Johnny Goodboy Tyler, complete with long, flowing plastic hair, ready to save Earth.

Jean Reno (Godzilla)
The 1998 Godzilla movie didn’t have a huge cast of famous actors—though Godzilla himself certainly qualifies! Because of this, the movie’s toy line included figures of lesser-known actors like Matthew Broderick, Hank Azaria, and Jean Reno, who probably wouldn’t have gotten action figures otherwise. Looking at this figure, would you be able to guess which actor it’s supposed to be? It really captures Jean Reno’s look from around the time of the Godzilla movie.

Denise Richards (Starship Troopers)
I don’t like to criticize other parents, but if my kids asked to watch Starship Troopers – a very violent and mature R-rated movie – my answer would be a quick no. It’s just not suitable for children.
However, the Galoob company actually made Starship Troopers toys! This includes a figure of Denise Richards’ character, Carmen Ibanez. And yes, if you were wondering, there’s also a Jake Busey action figure available.

Adam Sandler (Little Nicky)
Adam Sandler is a major movie star known for creating much of his own content. Unlike many actors who appear in lots of superhero or action films – the source of most action figures – Sandler rarely does. However, toy company McFarlane was so enthusiastic about partnering with Sandler in the early 2000s that they made several toys based on his poorly-received film, Little Nicky. The line included figures of Kevin Nealon, Robert Smigel, and two versions of Sandler himself. The most memorable is arguably the figure of Nicky simply lying on a radiator – perfect for imaginative naptime play!

Talia Shire (Rocky)
Jakks Pacific created a surprisingly large collection of toys based on all six Rocky movies. The line-up features a wide range of characters, including some unexpected additions like announcer Brent Musburger, boxer Mike Tyson, and even a toy representing a large cut of beef called “The Meat.” Of course, Talia Shire’s character, Adrian, was also included – she’s essential to any complete Rocky collection. But it’s funny – her action figure looks surprisingly fierce! Adrian is usually such a gentle and quiet character, especially in the first movie, but the figure makes her look ready to fight Apollo Creed herself.

Paul Sorvino (Dick Tracy)
The Dick Tracy movie had an incredible number of action figures based on its supporting actors. Beyond the figures of Dick Tracy (Warren Beatty) and Big Boy (Al Pacino), they also made figures of characters like Flattop (William Forsythe), Pruneface (R.G. Armstrong), Sam Catchem (Seymour Cassel), Mumbles (Dustin Hoffman), and Lips Manlis (Paul Sorvino). As a nod to his character’s fate in the movie, the Lips Manlis figure even included a pair of cement shoes!

Christopher Walken (Batman Returns)
It’s not unusual for characters from superhero movies to get action figures, but it’s still surprising to see one made of Christopher Walken’s Max Shreck from Batman Returns. Honestly, I’d be even more thrilled if someone made a figure of his character from The Country Bears – that would be a dream come true!

Marlon Wayans (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra)
The G.I. Joe films started with toys, so it’s not surprising they then created new toys based on the movies themselves. Several actors from the films, including Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Christopher Eccleston, and Marlon Wayans (who played Ripcord), even got their own action figures. Wayans’ figure is one of the better ones, but Bruce Willis’ is particularly impressive – it strongly resembles his character John McClane from the later Die Hard movies, which is quite funny.
