The popular BBC Proms festival is coming back this summer, and this year’s schedule features exciting performances, including music from the James Bond films and a celebration of Disney composer Alan Menken.
On August 20th, BBC TV and BBC iPlayer will air “Bond and Beyond,” a special celebrating the most memorable music from all 27 James Bond films – including both the famous soundtracks and signature songs.
Featuring music from iconic James Bond films like Skyfall and Goldfinger, “Bond and Beyond” is a concert hosted by Nick Mohammed, the star of Ted Lasso. The BBC Concert Orchestra will perform, and special guests will also be joining the show.

James Bond and music are a classic combination, much like a shaken martini and the world of spies. That’s why he’s a natural fit to headline this year’s Proms concert series.
The Bond theme song, performed by artists from Adele to Shirley Bassey, is a legendary element of the James Bond films. Combined with the incredible movie scores, it makes for a fantastic concert, like this Proms performance.
And its not just Bond getting the showcase treatment at this years Proms.
Enchanted: Alan Menken’s Music for Disney is a celebration of the renowned composer’s work, showcasing iconic scores from beloved Disney films such as Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.
Hear from Alan Menken and lyricist Tim Rice as they talk about the music from Beauty and the Beast in the discussion below.
Alan Menken has created more beloved music for Disney films than any other composer. His memorable songs include “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid and “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas, and many more.
As a huge Disney fan, I’m really excited about ‘Enchanted’! They’re putting on a special concert on August 31st with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra playing all the classic Disney songs. And get this – there are going to be some special guests performing too! It sounds like a magical night.
This summer’s renowned classical music festival will feature performances by Bond and Menken, among others, and will be broadcast on BBC TV and iPlayer.
