James Ransone’s Wife Jamie McPhee Speaks Out After His Death

James Ransone’s widow is putting on a brave face.

Following the passing of actor Bill Skarsgård, known for his role in It Chapter Two, his wife, Jamie McPhee, posted a touching message remembering his life.

In an Instagram post on December 21st, she shared, “I’ve told you a thousand times that I love you, and I know I’ll love you a thousand times more.” She also recalled a conversation where they both agreed they needed to embrace each other’s qualities, saying, “You said we both needed to be more like each other, and you were absolutely right.”

Along with a picture of Ransone—who, according to Los Angeles County records seen by TopMob News, passed away on December 19th—holding McPhee’s baby bump, she ended her online message by mentioning their two children.

“Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts—you, Jack and Violet,” she continued. “We are forever.”

Many stars offered their sympathy in the comments, including Natasha Lyonne, who appeared with Ransone in an episode of Poker Face earlier this year.

My heart is absolutely overflowing with love for them, and I’m so moved by how beautifully they expressed their feelings! Seeing them cherish little Peejo with such grace, gratitude, and a sense of peacefulness – it feels like a blessing for this life and beyond. That message – ‘family forever’ – really hits home. And the love for Jamie? It’s clear they’re the heart of everything, the absolute best among us. It just makes me so happy to witness such a strong, loving family.

Julia Fox also gave her sympathies as she offered a message of support.

She sent a warm message saying she was sending a big hug and hoping they were feeling loved and supported. She also offered her full support, letting them know she and her team were there for anything they needed.

Besides appearing in the sequel to It, Ransone has been in shows like The Wire and Generation Kill, as well as the movie The Black Phone. However, his role as Eddie Kaspbrak in the adaptation of the Stephen King novel was especially meaningful, happening as he and McPhee were planning to start a family.

He told IndieWire in September 2019 that he didn’t feel he earned the role of It, or that he’d finally ‘made it.’ Instead, he felt like the opportunity arrived because he was about to become a father, and that was going to be costly. He joked that the universe seemed to be providing for him in advance.

Ransone added, “This is for his future, not for mine.’”
