Jason Kelce and father Ed Kelce are mourning a loss.
Only a few days had passed since Ed’s partner, Maureen Maguire, who was 74, had passed away, when he was accompanied by the ex-Philadelphia Eagles center and his daughter-in-law Kylie Kelce at Maureen’s funeral service.
On August 7th, as depicted in images released by TMZ, Jason and Kylie – parents to Wyatt (5), Elliotte (4), Bennett (2), and Finnley (4 months) – were seen walking solemnly towards Maureen’s funeral in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.
During this time, Ed acted as a pallbearer while Maureen’s casket was being transported to the cemetery for the funeral. However, Travis Kelce and his companion, Taylor Swift, were not present in the pictures taken at the event.
On August 2nd, Ed, who is 74 years old, announced Maureen’s passing by sharing a link to her obituary on his Facebook account.
The obituary stated, “Maureen derived happiness from life’s fundamental delights.” She held a special fondness for the seashore at the beach and cherished dogs deeply.
It was mentioned that Maureen, who had three children with her deceased spouse and six grandchildren, developed a surprising affection for football towards the latter part of her life. She enjoyed numerous laughter-filled moments and thrilling experiences with her cherished friend Ed Kelce, as well as her faithful companion Butch.
In unison, they frequently journeyed and experienced football matches and musical events,” the obituary went on, “seizing each chance to live life to its utmost.
The tribute noted, ‘Her kindness, humor, and quiet power touched everyone privileged to know her. Maureen’s essence was a blessing, and her spirit will endure within the hearts of her loved ones forever.’
For quite some time, Ed, who had been married to Donna Kelce for 25 years beforehand, has openly discussed his bond with Maureen, going as far as to joke about an instance when she assisted him in recalling who Taylor was.
“On Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in January 2024, Ed explained that when Travis has many friends visiting for the game, they all gather at his house, even though he’s not there. A shuttle then arrives to collect everyone and transport them to the game.”
He shared that Taylor entered the room, looking somewhat recognizable, yet he couldn’t recall where from. He expressed, “I told Maureen, ‘Wow, I recognize this girl, but I can’t remember her name.’
Thankfully, she was able to let him know exactly who it was.
“‘You don’t know her?’” Ed recalled Maureen replying. “‘This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.’”

In simpler terms, Jason and Kylie celebrated Wyatt’s fourth birthday at the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles in October 2023. Kylie posted on Instagram saying, “We were celebrating a birthday while the Eagles had an undefeated season with 4 wins.
Back in June 2024, I took to Instagram to share a heartwarming snapshot featuring my little ones, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett. In the caption, I expressed that as a parent, having two out of three kids cooperating at any given moment isn’t all that shabby!
