Jax Taylor Exits The Valley After 2 Seasons

Jax Taylor is stepping away from the spotlight.

The star from The Valley, whose second season delved into his stay at a wellness center and the aftermath of his breakup with Brittany Cartwright, has confirmed that he will not be part of the series for its third season.

Following a demanding year filled with sincere discussions with my team and producers, Jax announced that he will not participate in the upcoming season of “The Valley“. At this moment, his priorities lie in nurturing his sobriety, mental well-being, and co-parenting. He recognizes that this break is essential for him to grow into the best individual he can be—particularly for their son, “Cruz“.

TopMob News has reached out to Jax’s reps and Bravo for comment but has not yet heard back.

The news follows a difficult second appearance by Jax, who earlier in the season sought help at a facility to manage his mental health issues. This absence was noticeable in several episodes, but he remained a presence through angry texts sent to Brittany and the rest of the cast, as well as occasional confessionals filmed during his stay.

After coming back home, Brittany chose to initiate a divorce proceeding following five years of marriage, delivering the divorce papers soon after he left the institution. In her petition, she mentioned incompatibilities as the reason for the split.

Prior to the airing of the second season in March, Jax publicly discussed his struggle with substance abuse, revealing his cocaine addiction.

In the second season of The Valley, we explored more deeply the intricacies of Brittany and Jax’s relationship. This included revealing that Jax had once lost his temper and flipped a coffee table, injuring Brittany, as well as disclosing that he had taken off the camera covers in their previously shared residence without her knowledge.

However, according to executive producer Alex Baskin, the primary purpose of the show remains sharing everything, even amidst mounting fan worry about Jax’s actions.

Alex stated during a recent interview with Variety on June 17th, “It’s our role to narrate the entire tale.” He added, “If we fail to present the story in its entirety, we might be concealing something significant that actually took place. That would prevent Brittany from revealing her experiences. To me, that’s more about sharing the narrative—which encompasses Brittany’s journey as well as Jax’s—rather than promoting an abuser.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to emphasize that we’re all striving to narrate stories truthfully and equitably, ensuring they remain engaging yet authentic. However, this doesn’t mean embellishing the reality of situations we present.

For more on Brittany and Jax’s history together, keep reading.

Prior to their marriage, it was in 2017 that Jax Taylor engaged in infidelity towards his partner, Brittany Cartwright, by having a romantic encounter with a previous SUR waitress named Faith Stowers.

In a moment when things were heating up on Vanderpump Rules, Jax openly acknowledged that he had been in this cheating predicament before. He went on to say that he had spent many months denying the allegations, but it ultimately proved unsuccessful for him.

However, despite Brittany breaking up with him initially due to devastation, they reconciled several months later and finally tied the knot in 2020.

Skip ahead to February 2024, Brittany disclosed that she and Jax, parents to their 2-year-old son Cruz, had parted ways following four years of matrimony.

The individual from Kentucky admitted that marriages can be incredibly challenging, and they’ve faced a particularly tough time over the past year. On their podcast, When Reality Hits, they confessed that they and their partner, Jax, have decided to spend some time apart. In an effort to prioritize their mental well-being, this person has opted to move into a different residence.

Brittany mentioned, “I’m dealing with things one day at a time.” She’s uncertain about what lies ahead, but for now, her primary concern is being an excellent mother to little Cruz.

Reflecting on the past month, I found the growing fissures in my relationship with my partner to be strikingly evident, as I caught a glimpse of the latest trailer from Bravo for their new show, “The Valley.

Brittany confessed that she doesn’t sense any romantic attraction from him and they haven’t been intimate, which makes being married challenging for her, as Jax later remarked.

Plus, costar Janet Caperna teased in the clip, “There’s a rumor about Jax cheating online.”

However, Jax slammed allegations of infidelity days after the trailer release.

He shared with TopMob News at the The Valley premiere party on March 14 that there are some minor communication problems occurring. To clarify, this is the only issue; there’s no additional concern. As surprising as it may seem, people sometimes struggle to connect, and that’s simply a part of life. There’s absolutely no hint of cheating or infidelity involved – it’s strictly a matter of communication.

He pointed out that we cross paths daily, yet we maintain separate living spaces. Essentially, our situation doesn’t involve sharing a bedroom.

Contrary to speculation, it was not infidelity on Jax’s part that led to their split, as Brittany clarified and revealed the accurate sequence of events leading up to their separation instead.

After having a severe argument, I chose to gather my belongings. Since January 24, I’ve been residing in an Airbnb.

She mentioned that she was taking this action for her peace of mind. Moreover, she feels quite firm about her choice to step away for some time.

In spite of their personal issues, the separated pair concurred on a single point: They are making decisions that are in the best interest of their 2-year-old child.

In Jax’s words to TopMob, it was clear they shared the same understanding – he is undeniably number one. What truly matters, Jax emphasized, is his certainty that this individual will have a wonderful life, no matter if they continue their journey together or apart. Most importantly, he highlighted the fact that he has two parents who adore him deeply.

Regarding the escalating conflicts, Brittany concurred, expressing her wish that “our son doesn’t have to experience such a lifestyle as normal. I hope he grows up understanding it’s not okay to live like that.

Brittany admitted in March that “there’s always hope,” but she just needs Jax to put in the work.

Brittany told TopMob, “I doubt anyone will ever have the kind of love for Jax that I’ve had. After all these years, we’ve been through so much together, and I stand by his side through everything. If he makes some changes I’ve asked for, there might be a chance for us to reconcile, but for now, I need time to focus on myself. I feel strong and proud for choosing what’s best for me, and my mental well-being is crucial.

One individual who didn’t seem too surprised by the split between Jax and Brittany? None other than their ex-boss from SUR, Lisa Vanderpump.

In a conversation with TopMob, the former Real Housewife expressed that everyone assumed their marriage wouldn’t endure, yet she has always been reluctant to make hasty judgments.

She mentioned that she wasn’t certain about the cause, but she speculated it might be related to Jax’s misconduct. Generally, past actions often provide a clue for future actions.

According to their long-time buddy Scheana Shay, speaking to TopMob News on March 23rd, they believe it’s in the best interest [of the person involved]. They also expressed that she truly deserves someone who will treat her with the kindness and respect she deserves.

And the couple’s The Valley costar Kristen Doute agreed with Scheana.

Kristen acknowledged that she feels proud of Brittany for establishing boundaries and taking control over her choices. However, she remains optimistic that the issue can be resolved. Yet, she emphasizes that it’s up to Jax, not Brittany.

In the final episode of June on the 4th, Brittany challenged Jax over the supposed derogatory remarks he had made towards her in private settings.

According to Kristen Doute, he admitted, “Aware that I treat you badly, I acknowledge my rudeness. I am aware I called you fat, and I told you that you are lazy and that you won’t have friends if we split up?

In an exclusive interview with TopMob News in June, Brittany mentioned that beforehand, we had discussed the possibility of trying out our ideas with other individuals if we felt like doing so. It may sound unusual or even a bit outrageous to some people, but this was the route we were interested in pursuing.

In July, Jax admitted that he was planning to get hospital-based care for his mental health concerns, as Brittany had urged him to attend therapy for many years.

The VPR alum mainly credited son Cruz as the reason he saught professional help.

In a heartfelt Instagram post dated July 31, Jax penned down, “Striving to improve for you my friend,” accompanied by a sweet snap of him planting a kiss on his tiny companion’s cheek. “I adore you.” (This version maintains the original meaning but uses more common and conversational language.)

In August 2024, seven months after they announced their split, Brittany formally ended her marriage by filing for divorce. She cited “irreconcilable differences” in court documents, seeking primary legal and physical custody of their son Cruz, with Jax permitted visitation rights.

Back in October 2024, finding myself utterly devoted to this passion I call fandom, I stumbled upon a revelation that left me breathless – court documents unveiled by TopMob News. In these documents, the one and only Jax had made a heartfelt plea for sole legal and physical custody of their precious son, Cruz. As I read through the lines, it was as if my heartbeat synchronized with the rhythm of his deepest desires, echoing the devotion and love he holds for his family.

Despite Jax stating in his documentation that he and Brittany got married in June 2019, he has also noted on the form that he disputes their legal marriage or domestic partnership.

Later on, TopMob News was informed by his representative that although Jax had made some mistakes when filling out forms that are typically handled by experienced legal professionals, these mistakes would be swiftly corrected.

After some confusion over Jax’s reaction to Brittany’s divorce filing caused doubt about their legal marriage status, she clarified the situation for everyone.

She remarked on the TopMob News Instagram post regarding Jax’s response mix-up, stating that they are officially wedded according to law. Seems like filling out forms might be challenging for certain individuals.

In November 2024, Brittany openly admitted that she had a brief romantic involvement with one of Jax’s acquaintances after their separation, and she showed no remorse about it.

She shared with Bravo’s “Hot Mic” on Nov 11 that there was no rule against dating within their friendship group. She added, “We never discussed it since why would we? To begin with, I didn’t anticipate getting involved with one of his friends. It wasn’t intentional. I wasn’t pursuing any of his friends. That’s not how the situation unfolded.

As for while she chose to move on with someone in the friend group?

She remarked, “It seemed as if I had known the person, and they were part of my reality.” It’s bizarre, she continued, to think about trusting others, especially considering I was single in Los Angeles for the very first time.

Jax expressed his dismay when he learned that Brittany was dating his friend Julian, describing it as a “sting to the heart.” He shared his surprised response to their relationship.

He shared with Hot Mic on November 14 that he likely wouldn’t have been troubled by it if someone else, a stranger, had been in the situation. However, he expressed his desire for her to find someone new, but not someone he is acquainted with.

Additionally, he mentioned discovering that Brittany had been sending Julian naked images. He also shared, “I uncovered a few instances where she wasn’t truthful about something.

In March 2025, Jax openly acknowledged for the first time that he had recently overcome a multi-decade struggle with cocaine addiction and had been abstinent for nearly three months.

Brittany’s repsonse?

She expressed her hope that one day he might overcome his addiction completely, but she’s uncertain due to his concerning behaviors and what appears to be a minimal treatment plan. Navigating this situation daily remains challenging and tough for her and her son. Jax has inflicted significant harm, and at present, she has little faith in him. Her sole wish is that one day he will transform into a better person for the sake of his own child.
