Jenelle Evans Slams Critics Amid Son Jace’s Mental Health Treatment

Jenelle Evans is asking for grace.

After her 16-year-old son, Jace Evans, was admitted to a mental health facility following an incident with his grandmother, Barbara Evans, in February, the former Teen Mom star has asked for privacy.

Jenelle, 34, shared a TikTok video on March 28 explaining that she hesitated to speak out, but felt it was important to ask for privacy for her family.

The reality star, who shares her son Jace with her ex, Andrew Lewis, also responded to rumors that she wasn’t being supportive. She explained she’d taken a break from social media to concentrate on being there for Jace.

She explained that she’s working hard to do what’s best for her child, and that’s a private matter.

Therefore, Jenelle has requested privacy from both those following the situation and her extended family while she deals with a personal issue.

She asked for some space, saying, “Please, give us a little room to breathe – my family and me, we just need to be left alone for a bit.”

“I am not the villain in this,” she said in closing, “and you guys, eventually, will see that.”

Jenelle, who is also a mother to 11-year-old Kaiser Griffith (with her ex, Nathan Griffith) and 9-year-old Ensley Eason (with her ex, David Eason), didn’t share details about Jace’s care. However, on March 28th, she posted photos on her Instagram Stories showing him on a plane, looking out the window and using a tablet.

Earlier this month, a representative for Jenelle confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Jace reportedly pointed a gun at his grandmother, Barbara (who he was living with), prompting her to call 911 on February 22nd. The family is still looking for the best place to get him the help he needs.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, seven officers from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department went to Barbara’s home in North Carolina to deal with what authorities called a disturbance involving a troubled teenager.

After the reported incident, Jenelle’s representative released a statement on March 12th to TopMob News requesting privacy for her son and family. The statement emphasized Jenelle’s priority is protecting her child and ensuring a safe and private environment for them all during this difficult time.

TopMob News reached out to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at the time but did not hear back.
