Jennifer Lawrence Details Ambien Mishap on Hunger Games Set

Jennifer Lawrence is finding the silver linings in some on-set missteps early in her career.

Jennifer Lawrence, known for her role in No Hard Feelings, shared that she mistakenly took the wrong medication twice while filming previous movies.

As someone who really prioritizes wellness, especially when I’m working, I completely get counting down the hours until bedtime! I was chatting with Leonardo DiCaprio recently, and we bonded over this. I shared a funny story about filming Red Sparrow. I tried using Adderall instead of a sleep aid, thinking it would help, but it backfired spectacularly – I was up all night in a total panic, taking hot showers! Honestly, I need my sleep to function. And to make things worse, I had to deliver a line – ‘Senate Armed Services Committee’ – with a Russian accent! It was a rough night, to say the least.

The following event was quite different and occurred during the filming of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013.

She also shared a story about accidentally taking a sleeping pill, Ambien, in the morning. She’d mistaken it for a different medication and was on set filming a dance scene with Philip Seymour Hoffman for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire when she began to hallucinate.

Jennifer Lawrence, 35, will be returning to her famous role as Katniss Everdeen in the new Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping prequel, alongside Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. She also mentioned that something she did on set that day upset one of her fellow actors.

As she shared, “Elizabeth Banks got really annoyed with me.”

Jennifer recently announced she’s producing a new Miss Piggy movie alongside Emma Stone. The script will be written by Cole Escola, known for his work on the show Oh, Mary!

On the November 5th episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, Jennifer revealed some exciting news: she and Emma Stone are producing a movie about Miss Piggy, with Cole writing the script.

She later opened up about the origins of the project.

During the lockdown, a friend of mine—who doesn’t work in entertainment—mentioned something funny to me. It was around the time people were talking a lot about ‘cancel culture,’ and she said, ‘Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Miss Piggy got canceled?’ She told me this while I was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 5th.

The audience kept laughing, and she added, “That’s not necessarily the storyline, but it made me think: why hasn’t anyone made a movie starring a feminist Miss Piggy?”

The Miss Piggy movie will take a little longer to arrive, but don’t worry – there are still lots of other great films on the way! Here’s a look at what’s hitting theaters next year…
