Anaconda is leaving Netflix next month

The original fan-favorite snake horror film is leaving Netflix soon.

What’s On Netflix reports that the movie Anaconda will no longer be available on the streaming service after February 1, 2026.

Directed by Luis Llosa, this beloved film first came out in 1997. It boasted a fantastic cast and was made with a budget of $45 million.

Anaconda was a financial success, earning a total of $136.8 million worldwide. In the United States and Canada, it grossed approximately $65.8 million, while international markets contributed $71 million. The film opened with a domestic collection of $16 million.

While Anaconda made a decent amount of money at the box office, it wasn’t well-received by critics or general audiences. Critics gave it a low rating of 41% on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewers only gave it 24%.

Despite receiving poor reviews when it first came out, the movie Anaconda has gained a dedicated following over the years. Interestingly, Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube, who starred in the original film, recently made a brief appearance in the 2025 remake, which stars Paul Rudd and Jack Black.

In a December 2025 interview with Variety, director Tom Gormican explained that he and the team always hoped to include the original cast members, and they continued to contact the actors until they received their approval.
