Jeremy Allen White Shares Rare Insight Into Life as a Dad

Jeremy Allen White will always say “yes, chef” to spending time with his little ones.

Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in *The Bear*, recently shared a glimpse into his relationship with his daughters, Ezer, 7, and Dolores, 5, who he co-parents with his ex-wife, Addison Timlin. He also discussed how he balances spending time with them despite his demanding work schedule.

Jeremy, 34, recently told *The Times* that he’s been doing this work since he was a teenager. He feels good about it, especially because he gets to do what he loves. He accepts that sometimes people follow him and his camera, but he’s okay with that, knowing it won’t last forever. He explained that eventually, people realize his life is fairly normal – mostly just picking up his kids from school and going home.

The actor, formerly on *Shameless*, feels grateful that his life is relatively uncomplicated, especially as he continues to co-parent with Addison. They separated in May 2023 after three years of marriage and a nine-year relationship. Now that he’s settled into a comfortable routine with his children, Jeremy enjoys letting them sample the dishes he creates, inspired by his character Carmy from the show *The Bear*.

He described their usual morning routine: making breakfast for his daughters, driving them to school, and planning to pick them up and prepare dinner later. He’s confident in making seven different dinner dishes, though his kids only consistently request three. Despite his efforts, they often prefer chicken nuggets after trying whatever he’s made.

Jeremy, who people are speculating is dating his *The Bear* colleague Molly Gordon, is a good cook for his daughters, but he’s still figuring out how to best prepare himself for intense acting roles. He explained that whether he’s playing a dedicated chef on screen or transforming into Bruce Springsteen for a biopic, these parts require complete dedication.

And sometimes, that intense dedication can be taxing on his family life.

He described his work as emotionally taxing, explaining, “I’m essentially paid to revisit painful experiences.” While his role on *The Bear* didn’t involve outwardly aggressive behavior, he stayed connected to intense feelings, which was unsettling. Filming his recent movie about Bruce was even harder – he spent a lot of time alone, away from his kids, and rarely got to go home.

He explained that the experience made him sick, and afterwards, he realized there had to be an easier, more pleasant solution.

Even though switching jobs was tough, he always prioritizes his children, Ezer and Delores. He showed this by mentioning them in his acceptance speech at the 2024 Emmys, where he won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on The Bear.

He told Ezer and Louie, “I love you more than words can say.” He then simply added, “You are my heart. Thank you.”
