Introducing the sweetest baby you’ll ever meet.
On August 26, it was announced via Instagram that reality TV star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola welcomed her first child into the world, with her partner Justin May by her side.
On August 20, they warmly received little Vincent Keith May, as she penned, “Welcome to the world, my radiant ray of hope.
Following this lengthy trip that led us here, no words can adequately express our profound sense of blessing and heartfelt gratitude. For now, we will remain enveloped in the warmth of our newborn love, until future events dictate otherwise. This joy is indescribable; it’s making my eyes overflow with tears of pure happiness. Thank you, God. [A paraphrased version that aims to retain the original sentiment while using clear and easy-to-understand language]
The pair announced their pregnancy on Instagram by displaying ultrasound images, accompanied by the following caption: “We’ve been hiding something special…”, posted on February 23. “Baby due in August 2025.
After enduring years filled with infertility struggles, this is undeniably the most wonderful gift we could ever hope for!” The 37-year-old exclaimed. “We are beyond elated to finally announce our little miracle to you all! Our hearts overflow with love, and we eagerly anticipate meeting you soon, baby!
Their wait has been particularly arduous.
As an over-the-top Jersey Shore fan, I couldn’t help but feel a deep connection with Sammi during the recent reunion episode on November 21st. She bravely opened up about her personal struggle, revealing that she had experienced a heartbreaking pregnancy loss while sharing her IVF journey on the show. It was an emotional moment for all of us who have come to love and appreciate her authenticity.
She shared with the camera that the journey had been extremely lengthy, involving numerous attempts and hormonal treatments. For her, the mere concept of pregnancy was an enchanting experience; losing it felt profoundly heartbreaking.
Through the hard times, she and Justin have leaned on one another for support.
Sammi shared with TopMob News that she and Justin are experiencing this jointly, and he has been incredibly supportive throughout the process. She praised him for his optimism, explaining that it helps keep her motivated, and added that he’s an exceptional partner in every sense. Essentially, she finds him simply amazing.
On the very same evening that Sammi shared her miscarriage experience in front of the cameras, Justin organized a surprise birthday dinner with family and acquaintances. Overwhelming Sammi, he took this opportunity to propose marriage to her, marking two years since they began their relationship.
She expressed, “I feel as if I’ve struck the luckiest jackpot, for Justin has entered my world. His presence has transformed it beyond measure. He embodies everything I could ever dream of in a partner – his patience, his support, and the affection I hold for him is immense.
In more recent times, Sammi is not just one alteration; rather, she’s undergone a transformation. Originally, she declined participating in the revival of Jersey Shore, which debuted in 2018, six years following the conclusion of the original series. However, the original cast member eventually decided to rejoin for season 6, and her partner accompanied her on this journey.
On the very same evening that Sammi shared her heartbreaking experience of a miscarriage on camera, Justin planned a surprise birthday dinner with loved ones. Overwhelming her further, he proposed marriage to the reality star, marking two years in their relationship.
She expressed, “I truly believe I’m the most fortunate woman on earth. Justin entering my life has transformed it immeasurably. He embodies everything I could ever dream of in a partner. His patience, his support, and my affection for him is beyond measure.
Previously employed as a bartender, Sammi is one of the recent changes she’s made. At first, she declined to participate in the reboot of Jersey Shore, which debuted in 2018 – a full six years after the initial series ended. However, eventually, the original cast member chose to come back for season 6 and even invited her partner to join the journey.
As a lifestyle enthusiast reflecting on the past, I must admit that there have been years where I’ve missed being in front of the camera during filming. Yet, here I am, eager to make a comeback and dive back into this creative realm once more. It’s an exciting opportunity to give it another go and discover if my passion for this craft still burns as brightly as before.
Over the past few years, I’ve experienced a great deal,” she went on. “It’s been quite some time now, and regardless of whether those experiences were positive or negative, I’m glad to be back in everyone’s sight.
Scroll to read secrets from the original Jersey Shore.
1. Originally scheduled to air on VH1 as a competition series named “America’s Biggest Guido” with only male participants known as guidos, the only cast member from that initial pilot who was involved was Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.
2. As the concept evolved, producers recognized the necessity of including women because they “fight,” according to casting director Doron Ofir. The Situation ended up being their first housemate and made a strong impact during his audition. As creator SallyAnn Salsano shared with Vulture in 2019, The Situation was quite confident, declaring, “Let me just take off my shirt first.”
3. Employed as a bartender on Long Island, Jenni “JWoww” Farley initially auditioned for another VH1 reality show, “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF“. However, a few weeks later, she received a call about a reality show featuring guidos instead.
1. As an avid fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the moment when Pauly D, a DJ from Rhode Island, received a life-changing call via MySpace back in 2009. It wasn’t just his grooving beats that caught their attention, but the fact that he had his very own tanning booth at home! I mean, who saves up for a $10,000 tanning booth? Only the one and only Pauly D!
2. And let’s not forget about the wild and wonderful Snooki! She already had a taste of reality TV fame after appearing on MTV’s “Is She Really Going Out With Him?” with her ex. For her audition, she showed up drunk, in a miniskirt, doing cartwheels and flips! I remember it vividly, the casting director describing her application smudged with fingerprints from her bronzer. What a way to make an unforgettable entrance!
6. Although she’s popularly known as Snooki, her real application didn’t use that nickname; it was simply listed there. As she confessed to Vulture, “I thought, ‘Oh no, now that it’s stuck, I wish I had chosen something else.'”
7. Prior to the show’s transition from VH1 to MTV, another character named Joey Fist Pumps was recruited for the cast. According to Ofir, he was known as “Joey Fist Pumps.” Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to join the show due to being a union contractor. MTV wanted some younger stars instead, so they said goodbye to Joey Fist Pumps and welcomed Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Vinny Guadagnino!
8. Salsano claims that the famous rubber duck phone, discovered at a local thrift store, was a serendipitous find. “Our art director went out and said, ‘I saw this ridiculous duck phone,'” she explained. “I responded, ‘We can’t leave it in the house; it doesn’t fit.’ The show began, and I realized, ‘Oh my goodness, we left that duck phone there!’ Now, the rubber duck phone is a national symbol of Jersey Shore.
9. During the first season, the cast genuinely worked at the T-shirt store, as Vinny confessed to Vulture, “For the first season, we didn’t get paid a single penny, only what we made at the Shore Store.”
10. Danny Merk, the shop owner, confirmed their salary to Vulture: “They initially started at $10 an hour, then it increased to $15, and towards the end, I believe I raised it to $20 an hour.” In his opinion, Pauly D was the hardest worker; Jenni and Sammi were proficient at the cash register. However, he considered The Situation and Snooki as the least productive employees.
11. Following the enormous success of the first season, the cast allegedly received a substantial pay raise, earning $10,000 per episode, according to the New York Daily News. By the series’ conclusion in 2012, they were reportedly making $100,000 per episode, as stated by The Hollywood Reporter.
12. Ever pondered where ‘GTL’ originated? Thank the production team for coining it, as they found the cast’s daily routine of visiting the gym, tanning salon, and doing laundry rather monotonous and uneventful. They feared they didn’t have a show, so when brainstorming on a whiteboard (since they always noted ‘so-and-so went here, so-and-so went there’), they grew lazy and simply started writing ‘GTL.’ Salsano later shared this revelation with Vulture.
13. Unlike most reality shows, over 40 cameras capture the cast of Jersey Shore round-the-clock for the duration of filming (30-50 days), as Salsano stated, “We don’t wait for something to happen, we keep them rolling.”
14. During the early stages, the reality stars were prohibited from using cellphones, TV, writing instruments or magazines. However, they were allowed one personal phone call per week. As Pauly D shared with Vulture, “The only time you’re off camera is when you’re in the bathroom. Even if you’re in the bathroom with someone else, they say two is a party, so they film it.” Despite this constant surveillance, the cast members gradually became accustomed to it.
15. After Angelina’s dramatic departures from the cast, Deena, who had auditioned for the show before it started, was recruited as her replacement in season three. In 2010, Deena told Entertainment Weekly, “Me and Nicole have been friends for about two years now, and, you know, she needed a partner-in-crime, like on the show with her.
16. At our Jersey Shore residence, everyone undergoes a sobriety check before being granted entry. To clarify, Vulture was told by Salsano that we employ the same identification verification system used in clubs – an electronic device to scan your ID. We only allow access to individuals who are 21 years or older and ask anyone overly intoxicated to leave our premises.
17. Can you envision a brand-new cast gracing the Jersey Shore? That was nearly the case as MTV initially considered an entirely fresh group of housemates for the second season.
18. The iconic Jersey Shore house, serving as our gang’s residence, is available for rent. However, be mindful that the jacuzzi is not included within the property itself; it sits atop the t-shirt shop’s roof.
19. Back in 2009, when “Jersey Shore” first aired, I was taken aback by the fierce reactions it elicited, particularly from advertisers such as Domino’s Pizza and Dell who decided to withdraw their ads. The Italian-American organization UNICO also expressed disapproval over the show’s portrayal of “guidos.” However, if you take a closer look at the credits, it’s filled with Italian-American cast members from the East Coast. For me, this show was a reflection of our youth and our heritage.
20. During the original run of the show, the cast were known for their unfiltered selves, but in an episode of the revival series, “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” JWoww and The Situation disclosed some personal struggles they faced off-camera. Prior to the Italy-set fourth season, JWoww experienced a miscarriage, which left her emotional and distraught during filming due to the medication she was taking to cope. On the other hand, The Situation’s erratic behavior during seasons four and five was attributed to his struggle with withdrawals as he sought to overcome addiction.
