Jill Halfpenny stars in first look trailer for “gripping” psychological thriller with Game of Thrones legend

The first trailer is out for ‘Girl Taken,’ a new psychological thriller featuring Alfie Allen (from ‘Game of Thrones’) and Jill Halfpenny (‘The Cuckoo,’ ‘After the Flood’).

Inspired by Hollie Overton’s novel Baby Doll, this series centers on twin sisters Lily and Abby Evans. Their peaceful lives in a small English town are shattered when Lily is kidnapped by Rick Hansen, a teacher well-known and liked by the community.

Lily finally escapes after being held captive and abused for years, but adjusting to freedom isn’t easy. Along with her sister Abby and mother Eve, she tries to rebuild their lives while living with the fear that Rick, the man who harmed them, remains at large and hasn’t been caught.

The newly released trailer showcases both the impressive cast and the unsettling story to come.

The trailer opens with the sound of a 999 call made by the mother, Eve, reporting her daughter Lily missing. This is followed by a series of heartwarming clips showing the twins enjoying life with their mother and at school.

The trailer shows quick cuts of Lily chained up while Mr. Hansen pretends to help her family search for her, secretly concealing his role as the one who kidnapped her. It ends with a disturbing scene of him tucking Lily into bed, accompanied by the words: “Her teacher, her captor, his baby doll.”
