Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are asking for prayers amid a difficult time.
Just days after Joseph and Kendra Duggar were both arrested, Joseph’s older sister and her husband shared how they were dealing with the upsetting news.
Jeremy shared on their March 25th podcast episode that they needed to step back a little this week while processing some difficult personal matters. He explained they’ve been taking time to reflect and pray through things before sharing with listeners.
Joseph was arrested in Arkansas on March 18th following allegations of repeatedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl during a family trip to Florida in 2020, according to the Tontitown Police Department.
Several days later, Joseph Duggar, 31, and his wife, Kendra Duggar, 27, were each charged with four counts of endangering their children. The charges relate to incidents at their home. Kendra was arrested on March 20th and released the same day, while Joseph remains in jail awaiting transfer to Florida.
Honestly, hearing about my total idol, Jinger, talk about the past week just breaks my heart. She said it felt like years since her brother’s arrest, and I totally get it. Can you imagine? It must feel like forever when something like that happens to your family. I’m just sending all my love and support to her – she’s amazing.
The mother of three shared that she was devastated this week. She described the pain and heartbreak as overwhelming, not just for her family, but for everyone affected by the situation. She said it’s been incredibly difficult to process on so many levels.
Jeremy explained that he and Jinger have been praying for the person who reported being sexually assaulted by Joseph, and they also hope for justice to be served. Jinger added that she was at a loss for words.
“It’s incredibly difficult,” she said. “When something like this happens, all you can do is pray for strength and help, because you can’t possibly be ready for such news.”
She acknowledged the 2021 arrest of her brother, Josh Duggar – who is now in prison for 12 years after being found guilty of possessing child sexual abuse material – and stressed that going through a comparable situation wasn’t any less difficult.
It’s incredibly difficult dealing with the pain, both for ourselves and for everyone else affected,” Jinger explained. “It’s hard to figure out how to move on once you truly understand the impact of it all. It’s a really challenging situation.
Since Joseph’s arrest, other members of the Duggar family have publicly responded, including Josh’s lawyer and cousin Amy Duggar. Josh’s sister, Jill Duggar Dillard, and her husband, Derick Dillard, said they were both shocked and deeply saddened by the news.
In a statement released on March 20, the couple expressed their deep sympathy for the young victim of this terrible crime and her family. They shared their hope that she would find strength, comfort, and healing, and receive all the necessary support in the coming days.

These two lovebirds began their romance in high school and have since become parents to nineteen children and grandparents to over thirty-six grandchildren.
Michelle remembers accepting Christianity when she was 15. One night, Jim Bob was visiting homes in the neighborhood for his Baptist church and was directed to the Ruark family’s house. A friend had told him that a newly religious cheerleader lived there, and it turned out to be Michelle.
Jim Bob and Michelle first met when they invited her to Sunday school at their church. Jim Bob hoped they would become spiritual leaders together, though Michelle didn’t remember the meeting as vividly. A year later, Michelle applied for a job at the frozen yogurt shop owned by Jim Bob’s parents. She recalled in a 2017 blog post for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd anniversary that he shyly introduced himself while working at the cash register and eventually worked up the courage to ask her to the junior-senior banquet.
They first met at a dinner held at Shiloh Christian, but Michelle knew something special was happening when they spent hours talking about the Bible at her parents’ home afterward. As Michelle recalls, that’s when they really connected. They graduated high school in May 1984 and were married just two months later in July. Michelle was 17, and Jim Bob was 19.
The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob previously served as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002, where he was also vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 but didn’t win the primary. He also sought the Republican nomination for the Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006, but was unsuccessful.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both real estate agents, are known for their conservative beliefs. These beliefs have made them both strong advocates for and targets of criticism regarding their show, 19 Kids and Counting (originally titled 17 Kids and Counting when it began in 2008).
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.
Josh Duggar, the oldest child of the Duggar family, was born on March 3, 1988. Like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, working with the Family Research Council.
Josh Duggar resigned after old police records from 2015 came to light, detailing accusations that he had sexually abused several girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill, when he was a teenager. In a June interview with Fox News, Jessa defended her brother, claiming the accusations were exaggerated and untrue, and stated she was one of the victims herself, which is why she felt comfortable speaking out.
I seriously can’t believe Anna Duggar has stayed with him! They got married way back on September 26th, 2008 – it was all on 19 Kids and Counting, of course – and even after everything, after he confessed to cheating, she’s still there for him. It’s just…wow. I’ve followed their story for years and I’m still shocked by her loyalty, honestly.
In 2016, when he began treatment, his parents described it as an important start to his recovery process.
Anna and her husband have seven children: Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), Meredith (July 16, 2015), Mason Garett (September 12, 2017), Maryella Hope (November 27, 2019), and Madyson Lily (October 23, 2021). Meredith was born on the same day TLC canceled 19 Kids.
In April 2021, Josh was federally indicted on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, and he initially pleaded not guilty. In 2022, he was convicted on both counts, but the judge later dismissed the possession charge. He was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison.
Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly had a miscarriage. While they were still heartbroken and seeking direction, Michelle and Jim Bob were surprised and overjoyed to learn they were expecting twins.
It felt like a special gift from God, a real encouragement,” she explained. “We’re still figuring things out as we go. It’s pretty unique – I breastfeed, and my kids are very close in age. I have a baby, and then I’m pregnant again just eight months later. It’s just another unexpected thing that’s happened to us, and we believe God is involved.
John-David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.
Let me tell you, some romances just move quickly! John-David and Abbie-Grace Burnett were actually acquaintances for years before they officially met at a church event in Abbie’s home state of Oklahoma. It wasn’t long after that they were engaged, and then, on November 3rd, 2018, they tied the knot! It was a beautiful, fast-moving love story.
They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
In a heartwarming message on their 30th birthday in January 2020, Jana reflected on a long-running joke about having a ‘twin thing’ – that special connection where you instinctively know what the other is feeling or thinking. She’d always said it wasn’t true for her and John, but the birth of their daughter, Gracie, changed her mind. Jana wrote that she felt just as much joy as John did when Gracie was born, proving that ‘twin thing’ was, in fact, real!
Jana said it was lovely seeing them and Abbie as parents, and that they were both natural at it. She added that the same great qualities that made him such a good brother would also make him a fantastic father.
Abbie and John-David welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in February 2026.
Jana watched eleven of her eighteen siblings get married before she met her husband, Stephen Wissmann. Interestingly, Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Despite some moments of feeling impatient, Jana believes everything happened according to God’s timing.
Jana explained to People magazine that she’s marrying later in life because she trusts that God has a plan for everyone. ‘We all have unique journeys,’ she said, ‘and if we were all the same, life would be pretty dull.’
On Dec. 30, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, son Archie Gerald Wissmann.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by heartwarming love stories, and Jill Dillard’s is definitely one of them! Born on May 17, 1991, she met her husband, Derick, in a really sweet way. It reminded me of how her parents met! He actually stopped by the Duggar family home with his church caroling group during Christmas 2011 – he grew up just about 45 minutes away, so it was a lovely, chance encounter.
Jill and Derick met thanks to Jill’s father, Jim Bob, who thought they’d be a good match. They quickly connected through emails and video calls. That November, Jill and her father traveled to Nepal to visit Derick, and their relationship blossomed. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they were married on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In April 2024, Jill announced that she and Derick had sadly lost their first baby girl during pregnancy.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Duggar discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to their family.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa and Ben met at church, and he began courting her in 2013. This traditional approach to relationships was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their romance before getting engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine that courting involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals together to see if they’re a good match for marriage. He contrasted this with dating, where couples often spend time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.
Ben asked Jessa’s parents for permission to propose, and then he proposed to her in August 2014—it was the first time they’d ever held hands! They got married on November 1, 2014. Jessa was expecting their first child when their show, 19 Kids and Counting, was canceled. TLC then aired a special featuring Jessa and her sister Jill discussing sexual abuse and raising awareness about the issue. That winter, Jessa and Jill became the stars of a new show called Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later became Counting On and included other members of the Duggar family.
Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born in November 2015; Henry, born in February 2017; Ivy Jane, born in May 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, but welcomed their fifth child, George, in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.
The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing ministry work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016 – the same day as Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday, though coordinating dates is tricky when you come from a large family of nineteen children! Soon after the wedding, people started speculating that they were expecting a baby.
In June 2017, on the show Counting On, Jinger shared that she and her husband hoped to be settled and continuing their ministry work in Laredo, serving God in whatever way they could.
The couple’s daughter, Felicity, was born on July 19, 2018. They had previously announced in May of that year that they were expecting another child, but shared that Jinger had experienced a miscarriage the prior autumn. Their daughter Evangeline Jo arrived in November 2020.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.
Joseph Duggar, born on January 20, 1995, proposed to Kendra Caldwell in May 2017. They had met through church and had been courting for only a few months when he proposed during his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding.
Joseph admitted he was nervous when he proposed, but he felt confident she’d say yes, since she’d previously told him, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’ Kendra shared her reaction with People, saying, ‘I’m so happy and so shocked – I don’t even know what to say!’
The couple has welcomed four children: Garrett, born in June 2018; Addison, born in November 2019; Brooklyn, born in February 2021; and Justus, born in 2022.
Joseph was arrested on March 18, 2026, and accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl in 2020. He faces charges related to inappropriate and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Two days later, Kendra was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.
Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
After dating Lauren publicly for only a few months, he announced they were engaged in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to her in the same location where her parents had gotten engaged, explaining the property held a lot of family history and was therefore particularly meaningful to Lauren.
Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family’s blog how much they adore her, calling her a ‘precious girl.’ Jessa and Ben also congratulated the couple and gave them chocolate candies shaped like hearts and kisses. Michelle jokingly said, ‘I’m guessing you want to save your first kiss for the wedding,’ and then held up the chocolates as a fun consolation prize if they visited.
Josiah previously dated Marjorie Jackson, but they ended their relationship in the summer of 2015. He told People magazine in March 2016 that they had enjoyed their time together and were trying to discern what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break from the relationship.
He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and described their wedding day as “absolutely perfect” to People magazine. They had their first daughter, Bella Milagro, on November 8, 2019 – a name meaning “miracle baby,” as Lauren had previously experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple expanded their family with another daughter, Daisy, in 2022, and a son named Ezra in May 2023.
Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth had been friends for 15 years before they began dating, and things moved quickly after that. Austin proposed in February 2017, and they were married just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – the same wedding where Joseph Forsyth proposed to Kendra Caldwell!
Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth have three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.
Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were born on December 30, 1998.
Jed and Katey Nakatsu married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). They have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.
No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
I was so excited to read back in January 2017 that Jim Bob really helped Jase get his start! He helped him purchase a house needing some work in Prairie Grove, Arkansas – it was about half an hour from the Duggar’s place. It was amazing to see Jase then use that as a springboard to launch his own construction business. It’s great to see him thriving!
Okay, so I was completely losing it when he finally posted about Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024! It was official, you guys! And then, like, only five months later, they were MARRIED in October?! It all happened so fast, but honestly, they’re perfect together and I’m so happy for them!
Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
He’s not currently looking for a romantic partner, but he absolutely loves being an uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Mom Michelle described James as the ‘fun uncle’ – someone all the younger boys admire and want to emulate! On his 19th birthday in 2019, she wrote about how James could always make anything happen. Even when he was little, he loved taking things apart – appliances, toys, anything – to see how they worked. He’d not only fix them, but often improve them with his own creative additions!
James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.
No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
He started dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.
Jackson Duggar, the fifteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle, was born on May 23, 2004. He’s pictured here with his older sister, Jill.
On Jackson’s sixteenth birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented his funny personality and said she knew he was eager to get his driver’s license.
Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the original special called 16 Kids and Moving In.
On her daughter’s 15th birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote that her daughter is a really fun and friendly person who loves meeting people. She added that her younger sisters look up to her immensely, and she feels blessed to be her mother.
Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.
Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
When her daughter, Jennifer, turned thirteen, Michelle described her as someone who is reliable, loyal, and a joy to be around. Jennifer is beloved by her younger cousins, who often want her to carry them! She also has a big heart for animals and is dedicated to caring for her pets each day. Recently, she even helped raise seven baby bunnies!
Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.
In 2019, Jordyn-Grace’s mom described her as a friendly and sociable girl who immediately connects with everyone she meets. Her laugh was also noted as being particularly cheerful and a highlight of their day.
Josie Duggar, number 19 in her family, is pictured here with her niece Meredith. She was born on December 10, 2009, three months early and weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces. She spent six months receiving care in the NICU.
Michelle described her daughter Josie as incredibly energetic in a birthday post from 2020. She wrote that Josie is constantly on the go, rarely stopping throughout the entire day.
