Jinger Duggar’s Daughter, 7, Taken to ER for “Excruciating” Ear Pain

Jinger Duggar Vuolo is now able to relax after her daughter’s recent health scare.

Jinger Duggar, known from 19 Kids and Counting, and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, shared a story about a stressful moment at a wedding they hosted. Their 7-year-old daughter, Felicity, suddenly had a problem with her ear during the event.

Jinger shared on a recent podcast episode that her sister, Felicity, was dancing enthusiastically at the wedding reception. Shortly after coming inside, however, Felicity began experiencing severe pain.

The situation was especially worrying for the 31-year-old, who is a mother to 4-year-old Evangeline and 7-month-old Finnegan with her partner, Jeremy. This was because her oldest child is very outgoing and loves being around people.

Jinger explained that her daughter pleads with them to stay up when company is over. She’ll say things like, ‘Do I really have to go to bed?’ even though she knows she has to wake up early, simply because she enjoys being with their friends.

Jinger understood how much pain her daughter Felicity was in, so she gave her two ibuprofen, even though she generally prefers to avoid medication. This immediately struck Jeremy as significant; he realized the situation must be quite bad since Jinger was quick to give her medicine, even while he was away at an event.

After the medication didn’t work, Jinger went back to the wedding reception hoping to find a doctor, but no one there was medically trained. Several guests advised her to take the patient to the emergency room, concerned that an eardrum might have ruptured.

Jeremy ended up taking Felicity to the emergency room, but thankfully she felt much better by the time they got there. Although her eyes were red from crying, she wasn’t in pain anymore, he said.

Jeremy explained that while they were checking in at the emergency room, his daughter said her ear had popped and felt better. However, she also insisted they should still see a doctor to be sure.

As for how Felicity has been doing in the days since her ER visit?

Jinger reported that her mother hadn’t complained of any pain for the past three days, and currently wasn’t experiencing any.

As someone who’s always been open about the realities of life – and especially life in the wrestling world – I wanted to share something personal. During a match in July 2025 against Piper Niven, I took an elbow slam that actually caused one of my breast implants to shift. It was a bit of a shock, but it’s just one of those things that can happen when you’re pushing your body to the limit!

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – hinting at retirement – she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to revitalize things in the future and couldn’t allow it to remain in its current state.

Let me tell you, dealing with health issues while also navigating a career can be tough. Back in 2014, the same year I was incredibly fortunate to win an Oscar, I actually received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids. These are non-cancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus, and honestly, it was a lot to process alongside everything else happening at the time.

I was so moved when she finally shared what she’d been going through. For over ten years, she’d kept it hidden, and in 2025, she bravely opened up on Instagram, saying she’d been ‘suffering in silence.’ It really resonated with me, knowing how long she’d struggled privately.

She explained that growing up, many girls are taught to expect periods to be painful, and to accept that pain as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and without support.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this, but Riley Keough – Riley Keough! – had to be hospitalized! Apparently, she got a hernia – which is like, a gap in her abdominal muscles – because… get this… she was wearing tight pants! I mean, can you even imagine? She’s so stylish, always rocking amazing looks, and it turns out those pants were a little too good. I’m just so worried about her, and honestly, a little obsessed with knowing she even wears pants like that! It’s just…Riley!

Someone messaged Suki on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, asking why she hadn’t been posting lately. Suki jokingly replied that she’d been hiding a serious health issue – a hernia caused by wearing very tight pants six months prior – and was afraid to mention it.

Let me tell you, I recently had a really scary experience. I ended up in the hospital because of some truly awful back pain. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

After noticing she looked “puffier” during interviews, she was surprised when doctors began commenting on her appearance online, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face that concerned them. This prompted Amy to realize she’d received steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section, which ultimately led to the diagnosis. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly began to have stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Though these symptoms eventually subsided, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but expressing gratitude that he was going to be okay.

In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. Before he could even take an aspirin, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, twenty days passed before Jamie woke up on May 4th, finding himself in a wheelchair and unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering incoherently.

After a week, her speech returned, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours – and persistent stomach pain. She faced a confusing array of diagnoses and conflicting advice from doctors.

Determined to find answers, Woodley, who prefers to keep the specifics of her condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being spanned a decade.

She explained that the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.

Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental health, Woodley is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She expressed happiness to be in a place of well-being.
