Joe Jonas Reacts to Ex Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl Album

Joe Jonas only has mad love for his ex Taylor Swift.

Almost twenty years after a short relationship with the singer known for her song “Down Bad” in 2008, Joe recently praised her new album, *The Life of a Showgirl*.

He told *Esquire* magazine in an interview on October 20th that he’d listened to some of her work and believes she’s the most popular artist right now, adding that he thinks it’s great.

Fans immediately began analyzing the album’s lyrics, but Jonas Brothers member Joe Jonas—who was married to Sophie Turner from 2019 until their divorce in 2023—chose to concentrate on the music itself.

He went on to say that everyone seems to have a take on it, but he’s heard the songs have some memorable tunes.

Taylor and Joe, both 35, had a very public and messy breakup – she famously shared that he ended things with a quick, 27-second phone call. However, they were eventually able to move past the drama.

Okay, so I was *listening* to the Armchair Expert podcast back in May 2023, and he said it himself! He actually said we’re ‘cool’! Can you believe it? He clarified it’s been ages since anything happened, like, a *long* time ago, but still… ‘cool’! I’m holding onto that, okay? It’s everything to me.

Taylor, who is now engaged to Travis Kelce, later said she regretted publicly criticizing Joe on TV.

She admitted it was a bit much, recalling the incident during a May 2019 appearance on *Ellen*. “I was only 18,” she said, adding that while they can laugh about it now, she was definitely speaking out of turn at the time.”

Interestingly, the relationship had a positive side for Taylor. She became friends with Selena Gomez, who was also dating Nick Jonas back then.

Selena shared on the *Therapuss* podcast that she and Taylor Swift often joke the best part of their past relationships was finding each other. She remembers being around 15 and Taylor being about 18, noting that this was when Taylor had her famously curly hair and wore lots of bracelets.

Indeed, the shared experience wound up evolving into a lasting bond.

You know, I’ve seen so many friendships blossom from unexpected places, and Selena and I are a perfect example. We really connected when we were both going through tough breakups – it’s amazing how women can bond over shared experiences like that! From there, we just naturally stayed close, supporting each other through everything life threw our way. And now, incredibly, it’s been 16 years! It just goes to show that true friendships can really stand the test of time.

They are definitely not getting back together. However, with all the recent interactions – birthday celebrations, affectionate hugs, and even playfully acting out a romantic scene in a virtual performance of *Fast Times at Ridgemont High* – it feels like they’re just teasing everyone who hoped they’d reconcile.

Sarah proved she’s confident and playful when she appeared on her ex-boyfriend Jimmy’s talk show. She was there to promote her new series, *I Love You, America*, and playfully teased him about his wife, Molly Kimmel, describing her as “cute,” “bright,” and “funny.” Joking about the difference between them, Sarah quipped, “It’s not fair! She gets the updated, more aware Jimmy. I only had the Jimmy from *The Man Show*.”

Honestly, some people seemed more upset about this breakup than the couple themselves! When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—found out Chris Pratt was marrying Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she surprisingly offered to perform the ceremony. She even sent a gift when their daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source told TopMob News that Anna was “very supportive” and excited for her son, Jack, to have a little sister.

Lenny describes it as a “one big happy family” and a testament to how positive relationships can evolve.

Although their relationship ended in 2007, they still had great chemistry on screen when they starred together in the 2011 film *Bad Teacher*.

Although their 2013 breakup was difficult at first, the actors have reached a point where they can vacation together as a group.
