Directed by Andrew Bernstein and written by Aaron Rabin along with John Krasinski, Jack Ryan: Ghost War is the continuation of the popular Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series on Prime Video. This film brings John Krasinski back to the role of Jack Ryan after the fourth season concluded in 2023, and promises his most challenging mission to date.
Joining the cast alongside original stars Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Betty Gabriel, Sienna Miller will appear in Jack Ryan: Ghost War, having joined the project in December 2024. Max Beesley, Mckenna Bridger, JJ Feild, and Douglas Hodge also signed on in February 2025.
Not much is known about the story of Jack Ryan: Ghost War, but the movie will definitely involve international travel. This is because Sienna Miller plays a key role as a British intelligence agent from MI6, working alongside Jack Ryan.
In 2025, Krasinski discussed how making a movie allowed them to focus the story and increase the excitement. He explained that condensing the timeline and building tension was enjoyable, and it let them include more of the action-packed elements they couldn’t fit into the television series.
Some fans are concerned that the new film, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, might lose the qualities that made the series so popular. However, most people still expect it to be a hit, just like the previous installments. While the early seasons of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan received decent, but not outstanding, reviews, the show generally improved over time.
Currently, Season 1 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has a 75% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 85 critic reviews. Later seasons have varying scores: Season 2 at 70%, Season 3 at 82%, and Season 4 with a high 94%. Overall, the series has an 80% “Fresh” rating on the site.
Jack Ryan: Ghost War is currently slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in May.
