Teddi Mellencampis struggling amid her cancer journey.

Three months after Erika Jayne announced her brain cancer was in remission, her father, John Mellencamp, shared an update on how she’s doing.

John Mellencamp revealed on The Joe Rogan Podcast that his daughter is seriously ill with brain cancer. He described the situation as incredibly difficult, saying, ‘It’s not fun. She’s suffering right now.’

Before John gave an update on his daughter, Teddi had explained she was stunned when scans showed no sign of cancer. However, she emphasized that her fight against cancer wasn’t finished.

The 44-year-old shared on the October 2nd episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, that she needs to continue immunotherapy for another year, as she is still undergoing treatment.

She explained how the treatment timeline works: after one year, then two, patients could potentially be considered in remission after three years.

Teddi has received support from many of her Real Housewives colleagues during her health challenges. Her husband, Edwin Arroyave, has also been there for her, and together they are parents to their three children: Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5.

She also acknowledged her dad, praising his unwavering support since her stage 2 melanoma diagnosis in October 2022, particularly after her surgery earlier this year.

Teddi shared on Instagram that it’s been ten months since her brain surgery and expressed her gratitude for John Mellencamp’s unwavering support of her and her family throughout the entire process.

She concluded, “Love you so much, Cougs. Thank you for everything”

Teddi hasn’t shared many updates about her cancer journey recently, but in a New Year’s Eve post, she encouraged her followers to prioritize skin checks while reflecting on the past year.

She shared on Instagram that 2025 was a difficult year, explaining that a close call with death had changed her perspective. As the year ended, she focused on appreciating all the good things in her life.

Teddi shared that while she doesn’t know what the future holds, she’ll always be honest with her audience, sharing both the highs and lows of her life. She explained that being open and vulnerable is how she deals with challenges, and she hopes it helps others feel less alone in their own struggles.
