Almost three years after it first aired on TV, the fantastic but often overlooked series, The Continental, is becoming popular again through on-demand rental services. For a limited time, fans can find it on iTunes at a reduced price.
As of February 7, 2026, the miniseries The Continental is currently the #3 most popular TV show on iTunes in the United States, according to FlixPatrol. It quickly rose to that spot on February 4, right when a new weekly sale began. The series is available to purchase for a limited time at $4.99, but the price will likely return to its regular $19.99 at the end of the week, so fans of John Wick should buy it soon to take advantage of the discount.
Premiering on Peacock on September 22, 2023, The Continental expands the John Wick universe as both a prequel and spin-off. The series reveals the origins of Winston Scott and how he became the manager of the famous New York Continental hotel. This hotel serves as a neutral ground for professional assassins, and the show delves into the lives of the staff and the dangerous individuals who find refuge within its walls, all set in a 1970s reimagining of history.
I was really excited to see Mel Gibson take on the role of Cormac O’Connor in The Continental, and Colin Woodell did a fantastic job as Winston Scott – it was great to see that character explored further, especially for those of us who already knew him from the John Wick movies. The show also had a really strong supporting cast, including Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene – a truly talented group!
Even though The Continental didn’t receive the same praise as the John Wick movies in theaters, it’s still generally well-regarded. Critics give it a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but viewers seem to like it even more, with a 77% approval rating based on over 500 reviews.
Critics liked the action and style in The Continental, but most agreed it was primarily for dedicated John Wick fans who wanted to explore the franchise’s universe in more detail. The show’s success on iTunes shows the John Wick series remains popular, and fans are excited for more content.
The John Wick universe continues to expand its reach with strong streaming numbers for its spin-off series. As of February 7th, Ballerina was the second most-watched title worldwide on Prime Video. Both The Continental and Ballerina demonstrate that the franchise can attract a large audience even without Keanu Reeves as the lead.
Three Exciting New John Wick Films Are On the Way
As a huge John Wick fan, I’m so excited that The Continental is finally here! It’s dropped at the perfect time, honestly. It’s giving me something awesome to watch while I eagerly wait for the next John Wick movie. And the best part? There are actually three new projects already in the works for the franchise, which is incredible!
Keanu Reeves will be back as John Wick in a new movie. Although details are still limited, the story will likely follow him dealing with fresh dangers after leaving the High Table. Beyond that, a film focusing on Caine, Donnie Yen’s character from John Wick: Chapter 4, is also in the works, along with another unnamed project that received the go-ahead in April 2025.
The Continental: From the World of John Wick is now available for purchase on iTunes.
