Netflix recently provided an update on the release of new episodes for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, addressing fan concerns about the wait. The anime adaptation of the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki’s manga was highly anticipated for the Spring 2026 season. However, after only one 45-minute episode was released, fans were surprised to learn the next batch of episodes would take a significant amount of time to arrive.
Last month, it was announced that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run would continue with a “2nd Stage” anime, planned for 2026. However, many details about its release were still unknown. Now, Netflix has confirmed that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run 2nd Stage will arrive this Fall, with new episodes released weekly. Netflix also explained the reason for the delay in releasing the next set of episodes.
Netflix Confirms JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run 2nd Stage Episode Release Schedule
Netflix has expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic support of Steel Ball Run, the latest installment in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. The series is currently being made and will be available to watch for everyone. Netflix plans to release the episodes in two parts. The first set of episodes will be followed by a second part, which will begin streaming in Fall 2026 with one new episode released weekly. This release schedule was always the plan, allowing for a staggered rollout of content.
The release plan was always part of our original vision and was decided upon by the production team. We’re incredibly grateful for your excitement and understanding as we prepare the 2nd STAGE. This confirms the series will be released in parts, and the 2nd STAGE will include multiple episodes.
Why Is Steel Ball Run’s Anime Releasing Like This?

Netflix confirmed that producing JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is a complex process with many layers of approval. The schedule is determined by a production committee that likely includes original publisher Shueisha, Warner Bros. Japan, Netflix, and potentially other involved companies. Additionally, animating this season is demanding, and the team needs sufficient time to deliver a quality product.
Toshiyuki Kato, the director of the series, discussed the challenges of bringing the show to life, particularly with animating the numerous horses and deciding when to use computer-generated imagery. Because Steel Ball Run has a more complex story than the previous six parts, giving the production team ample time is considered crucial for maintaining the quality of the show.
