Jon Hamm’s Returning Crime Series With 86% on RT Is a Streaming Success in the United States

Jon Hamm is back with a new season of his popular crime series, now streaming on Apple TV. Throughout his career, Hamm has found success in television, most notably as the lead in Mad Men (2007-2015), for which he won an Emmy and two Golden Globes. He’s also appeared in shows like Fargo and had a significant role in Taylor Sheridan’s Landman. Now, he’s leading his own dark comedy crime drama, which premiered its second season on April 3rd and is already proving to be a hit.

The second season of Your Friends & Neighbors is proving popular on Apple TV, quickly climbing to the #2 spot, according to data from FlixPatrol. It’s currently only behind Shrinking, which just finished its latest season this week.

Your Friends & Neighbors Season 2 is Off to a Big Start

The second season of Your Friends & Neighbors began on April 3rd with the first episode, “We’re Here Until We’re Not.” While the first season launched with two episodes in 2025, this season started with just one. However, early viewership numbers indicate this is actually positive – people are rushing to Apple TV to watch the new episodes and are also revisiting the first season.

Just a quick recap: the first season of Your Friends & Neighbors follows Coop (Jon Hamm), a New York hedge fund manager who loses his job but is determined to maintain his family’s luxurious lifestyle. He starts stealing from his wealthy neighbors, initially believing they wouldn’t notice the loss. However, things quickly escalate and become more complicated than he anticipated.

At the end of the first season, Coop was arrested for murder after accidentally stepping in blood at a robbery scene and going to trial. However, it was revealed that the victim, Paul, had actually taken his own life. Paul’s wife intentionally made it look like a murder, which ultimately led to Coop’s release. Once cleared, his former employer offered him his job back, but Coop preferred his new life of crime. He robbed his old boss, stealing a painting, and decided to start fresh elsewhere.

Season 2 of Your Friends & Neighbors follows Coop as he continues to rob people to fund his lavish lifestyle, inevitably causing complications. The season kicks off with someone discovering Coop’s secret, leading to a fresh wave of lies and deceit. While the first season received a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the second season improved to 88%, likely contributing to its strong viewership and the subsequent renewal for a third season.
