This sci-fi series by Jonathan Nolan is of interest again, now on Netflix.
Jonathan Nolan, brother of filmmaker Christopher Nolan, has worked on a number of successful projects. He’s particularly known for his work in science fiction, including the HBO series Westworld. The show was a hit for four seasons before being cancelled, cutting short plans for a fifth and final season.
Netflix is also successful at releasing shows within specific genres. They’ve had huge hits with sci-fi series like Stranger Things and Black Mirror, which are now strongly associated with the platform worldwide. Now, Person of Interest is gaining popularity again on Netflix, thanks to the combination of Jonathan Nolan’s talent for the genre and viewers’ love for sci-fi stories.
Currently, Person of Interest is the 9th most popular show on Netflix worldwide, according to data from FlixPatrol. It’s even outperforming Smallville, the well-loved Superman prequel. The show became available on Netflix in select regions on March 4th and is now appearing alongside other hit series like Bridgerton, The Night Agent, and The Mentalist.
I’ve been following ‘Person of Interest’ for a while now, and even though Jonathan Nolan’s incredible show isn’t currently the top show on Netflix everywhere, it’s still doing amazingly well! I was so excited to see it’s trending in 28 countries right now. And get this – it’s actually the second most-watched series on Netflix in the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago! It’s fantastic to see it finding a new audience.
Person of Interest first aired on CBS on September 22, 2011, and ran for five seasons, ending on June 21, 2016. Created by Jonathan Nolan, the show was a compelling blend of crime and science fiction. Person of Interest centered on Harold Finch (Michael Emerson), a wealthy programmer who built “the Machine”—a powerful system that could foresee criminal activity using all available data.
Because the government focused solely on major national security threats, Finch recruits John Reese, a highly skilled ex-Army and CIA operative, to handle everyday crimes that might otherwise be ignored. The show, Person of Interest, has been critically acclaimed, earning a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is also popular with viewers, boasting an 80% audience score.
Despite becoming a worldwide trend on Netflix, the sci-fi series Person of Interest isn’t available on the streaming service in the United States. If you’re in the US and want to watch, you’ll need to use Prime Video. Luckily, viewers in many other countries can now enjoy all five seasons of Person of Interest on Netflix, where it’s quickly gaining popularity.
