If you watched season 13 of Death in Paradise, you might recall a lot of exciting events for the regular characters, plus the welcome return of Florence Cassell.
Joséphine Jobert, who plays the popular character Florence, returned to Death in Paradise both to develop her character’s connection with Neville (Ralf Little) and to assist with a case. However, her last episode on the show actually set the stage for her new starring role in Saint-Pierre.
When asked if her experience on ‘Death in Paradise’ helped prepare her for her role in ‘Saint-Pierre,’ the actress chuckled, explaining that she’d returned to ‘Death in Paradise’ multiple times over the years. They kept asking her to come back – sometimes for half a season! She finally agreed to do just one guest appearance in her final season.
Typically, the Inspector handles the mystery-solving part, but this time they asked me to do it alone. They basically said, ‘You’re on your own with this,’ and I double-checked to make sure they were serious! It involves a really long, eight-page monologue, so it’s a pretty big undertaking.

Jobert explained that dengue fever is sometimes a problem in Guadeloupe, and he actually caught it himself. He was incredibly sick – he could barely stand and felt like he was dying. He spent the whole day battling the illness, which wasn’t visible on camera, and was in terrible pain. He described it as a truly awful experience.
Jobert stars in Saint-Pierre as Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault, a Deputy Chief, and Allan Hawco, known from Jack Ryan, plays Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick, the other main character.
The new series follows Inspector Donny Fitzpatrick, nicknamed ‘Fitz,’ who is transferred to the small French territory of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon after investigating a corrupt politician. His arrival shakes things up for Deputy Chief Genevieve Archambault, a Parisian officer with secrets of her own.
The story follows two experienced detectives, each with their own distinct style, who are unexpectedly paired up to investigate unusual and thrilling crimes. While the islands appear to be a peaceful paradise for tourists, a dark undercurrent of criminal activity lurks beneath the surface. Initially, Arch and Fitz clash and distrust each other, but they soon realize they work better as a team.
