Joy-Anna Duggar is asking for patience.
Over a week after Joseph Duggar’s arrest, his sister publicly responded to the accusations of child sexual abuse against him.
Joy-Anna shared on Instagram on March 26th that she was devastated by the recent news about her brother. She expressed her sympathy for the victim and said she’s been deeply upset and taking time to cope with the situation.
The former star of 19 Kids and Counting mentioned she has some previously recorded projects that will be released before she reduces her public appearances.
The 28-year-old finished by saying they would be spending quality time with their family and expressed gratitude for everyone’s support and prayers.
Joseph was arrested in Arkansas on March 18th and faces charges related to sexual misconduct with a minor, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. The charges stem from an incident during a family vacation in Florida in 2020, when he allegedly abused a 9-year-old child.
Two days later, his wife, Kendra Duggar, was also arrested. Both parents of four were charged with four counts each of endangering a child and unlawful imprisonment, according to a statement released by the Tontitown Police Department on March 20th.
Kendra has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 29th alongside Joseph to address charges filed in Arkansas. Joseph, however, is still being held and will be transferred to Florida to face charges there.
Joy-Anna wasn’t the only Duggar to react to the allegations, with Jinger Duggar also speaking out.
She shared on the March 25th episode of The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast that she felt utterly heartbroken. She described the pain and sadness as overwhelming, especially considering how many people it had impacted. She said it was a deeply difficult and painful experience in so many ways.

You know, when something truly shocking happens, it just hits you hard. In those moments, all you can do is lean on your faith – or whatever gives you strength – and ask for help. Honestly, you can’t prepare for news like that, and it’s okay to just feel everything and reach out for support.
The 32-year-old explained how her brother, Josh Duggar—who is in prison for 12 years after being found guilty of possessing child sexual abuse material—affected how she felt about her husband Joseph’s arrest.
You know, dealing with pain – both your own and seeing it in others – is incredibly challenging. It really weighs on you and can leave you feeling lost about how to move forward. It’s just a really tough spot to be in, and figuring out what to do next can feel overwhelming.
TopMob News previously reached out to the Duggar family for comment but did not hear back.

These two began dating in high school and eventually became parents to 19 children and grandparents to more than 36 grandchildren.
Michelle remembers accepting Christianity at age 15. Shortly after, Jim Bob was visiting homes in the neighborhood as part of his church’s outreach program. A friend mentioned that a newly religious cheerleader lived at the Ruark family’s house, so Jim Bob went to their door.
Jim Bob invited Michelle to Sunday school and hoped they could become each other’s spiritual guides, though Michelle doesn’t recall their first encounter being particularly striking. A year later, Michelle applied for a job at the frozen yogurt store owned by Jim Bob’s parents. In a 2017 letter shared on the family blog for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd anniversary, Michelle recalled, “You came to the counter and introduced yourself. You were shy but kind! I don’t remember much of our conversation, except that you eventually worked up the nerve to ask me to the junior-senior banquet with you!”
Michelle and Jim Bob first connected at a dinner held at Shiloh Christian. However, it was the hours they spent talking about the Bible at her parents’ home afterward that really solidified their connection. As Michelle explained, that’s when they felt their hearts truly connected. They graduated high school in May 1984 and were married just two months later in July. Michelle was 17, and Jim Bob was 19 at the time.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
I’ve been following Jim Bob’s career for years. He really dedicated himself to public service, first as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002. He even took on a leadership role there, serving as vice chair of the House of Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. While he ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 and for the state Senate in 2006, hoping to represent District 35 as a Republican, unfortunately, he wasn’t successful in those primary elections. Still, I always admired his commitment to trying to make a difference.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both working real estate agents, are known for their conservative beliefs. These beliefs, along with their large family, made them both strong advocates for and frequent targets of criticism surrounding their show, 19 Kids and Counting (originally 17 Kids and Counting when it began in 2008).
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve followed the Duggar family for quite some time. Josh Duggar, the eldest child, was born on March 3, 1988, and like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, notably working with the Family Research Council. It’s interesting to see how values are passed down and expressed through different generations.
Josh Duggar resigned after police records from 2015 revealed accusations that he had sexually abused several girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar, when he was a teenager. In a June interview with Fox News, Jessa defended her brother, claiming the accusations were exaggerated and untrue, and stated she was one of the victims herself.

His wife, Anna Duggar, whom he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on the show 19 Kids and Counting, remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.
In 2016, when he began treatment, his parents described it as an important start to his recovery process.
Anna and her husband have seven children: Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), Meredith (July 16, 2015), Mason Garett (September 12, 2017), Maryella Hope (November 27, 2019), and Madyson Lily (October 23, 2021). Meredith was born on the same day TLC canceled 19 Kids.
In April 2021, Josh was indicted on federal charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, and he initially pleaded not guilty to both. In 2022, he was convicted on both counts, although the judge later dismissed the possession charge. He was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison.

Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly, she lost the baby. While they were still sad about this loss and seeking direction, they were overjoyed to discover they were expecting twins.
It felt like a wonderful gift from God, really encouraging us,” she explained. “We’re still figuring things out as we go. It’s quite rare – I breastfeed, and my children are very close in age. I have a baby, then I’m pregnant again just eight months later. It’s just another unexpected thing happening in our lives, and we feel like God is guiding us through it.
John-David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John-David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. They had known each other for several years, but first met in person at a church event in Oklahoma, where Abbie grew up.
They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
On their 30th birthday in January 2020, Jana shared a heartfelt message with her brother, John. They’d often been asked if they had a special ‘twin connection’ – that feeling of sharing each other’s thoughts and emotions. Jana had always said no, but she explained that when their niece, Gracie, was born, she truly felt the same joy John did, making her believe the ‘twin thing’ was real after all!
Jana said it was lovely seeing them and Abbie as parents, adding that they seemed like natural parents. She also pointed out that the qualities that made him a great brother would definitely make him a wonderful father.
Abbie and John-David welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in February 2026.

Jana watched eleven of her eighteen siblings get married before she met her husband, Stephen Wissmann. Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Even though it took a while, Jana believes everything happened according to God’s plan.
Jana explained to People magazine that she didn’t always see how things fit together, but she trusts that God has a plan for everyone. That’s why she’s choosing to get married later in life. She believes everyone’s journey is unique, and life would be dull if we were all the same.
On Dec. 30, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, son Archie Gerald Wissmann.

Jill Dillard (born May 17, 1991) met her husband, Derick, in a sweet way, much like her parents did. He visited the Duggar family home in December 2011 while caroling with his church group – they lived about 45 minutes apart!
Jim Bob brought Jill and Derick together, and they quickly connected through email and video calls. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship blossomed. Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage in February 2014, and they were married on June 21st of that year. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In April 2024, Jill announced she and Derick had experienced a miscarriage while expecting their first daughter.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Duggar discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa and Ben first met at church, and he began courting her in 2013. This traditional approach to romance was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their relationship before getting engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine that courting involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals to see if they’re a good match for marriage. He contrasted this with dating, where couples often spend time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.
Ben sought permission to marry Jessa and proposed to her in August 2014 – it was then that they first held hands. They married on November 1, 2014. While Jessa was expecting their first child, the show 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. Shortly after, TLC aired a special episode featuring Jill and Jessa discussing sexual abuse and raising awareness about the issue. That winter, the sisters starred in their own spin-off, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later became Counting On and included other members of the Duggar family.
Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born November 5, 2015; Henry, born February 6, 2017; Ivy Jane, born May 28, 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, but welcomed their fifth child, George, in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing mission work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016 – which happened to be the birthday of Jinger’s nephew, Spurgeon – and quickly faced speculation that they were expecting a baby. (It’s hard to avoid overlapping important dates when you’re part of a large family of nineteen!)
In June 2017, on the show Counting On, Jinger shared that she and her husband hoped to be settled in Laredo a year from then, continuing their ministry and finding ways to serve God.
Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo welcomed their first daughter, Felicity, on July 19, 2018. They had previously shared that they experienced a miscarriage in the fall of 2017. Their second daughter, Evangeline Jo, arrived in November 2020.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Joseph Duggar, born on January 20, 1995, proposed to Kendra Caldwell in May 2017. They had met through church and had been courting for only a few months when he proposed at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding.
Okay, so I was SO nervous asking her to marry me, but honestly, I wasn’t worried about a rejection. She literally told me she was waiting for me! It was amazing. And her reaction? She was just… speechless! She kept saying she was happy and totally shocked, like she couldn’t even find the words. It was the best moment ever, seriously!
The couple has welcomed four children: Garrett, born in June 2018, Addison, born in November 2019, Brooklyn, born in February 2021, and Justus, born in 2022.

On March 18, 2026, Joseph was arrested and accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl in 2020. He faces charges related to inappropriate behavior with a minor.
Two days later, Kendra was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
After publicly dating for only a few months, the couple announced they were engaged in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to Lauren at the same location where her parents had gotten engaged, explaining the property held a lot of family history and was therefore particularly meaningful to her.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always thrilled to see families embracing new relationships! Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared a sweet video on their family blog expressing how much they adore her – she called Lauren a ‘precious girl,’ which is just lovely. And Jessa and Ben sent their congratulations along with the cutest chocolate x’s and o’s! It was a playful moment, with Michelle jokingly suggesting they’d offer a ‘consolation prize’ of chocolate if the couple didn’t save their first kiss for the wedding day. It’s those little gestures that make family celebrations so special!
I remember when Josiah dated Marjorie Jackson – they seemed really sweet together! It didn’t last, though; they parted ways in the summer of 2015. He told People magazine that they had a good time, but were really focused on what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break from the relationship.
He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and described their wedding day as “absolutely perfect” in an interview with People magazine. They became parents to daughter Bella Milagro on November 8, 2019—a name meaning “miracle baby”—after Lauren experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple expanded their family with another daughter, Daisy, in 2022, and a son named Ezra in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had been friends for 15 years before they began dating. They quickly fell in love, with Austin proposing in February 2017 and the couple marrying just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – the same wedding where Joseph Duggar proposed to Kendra Caldwell!

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth have three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.

Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, arrived on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.
Jed and Katey shared the exciting news in July 2024 that they were expecting twin girls. Elsie Kate and Emma Kate arrived on January 8, 2025.

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). Together, they have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
Back in January 2017, the Daily Mail said Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a run-down house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas—roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s property. Jase then went on to launch his own construction business.
He publicly announced his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married the next October.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
He’s not currently dating anyone publicly, but he loves being an uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Mom Michelle described James as the ‘fun uncle’ – someone all the younger boys admire and want to emulate! On his 19th birthday in 2019, she wrote that James could seemingly build or fix anything he set his mind to. Even when he was little, he loved taking things apart – from household appliances to anything else he could get his hands on – figuring out how they worked, and then reassembling them, often with his own creative improvements!
James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
He started dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.

Jackson Duggar, the fifteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle, was born on May 23, 2004. He’s pictured here with his older sister, Jill.

For Jackson’s sixteenth birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented his funny personality and said she knew he was eager to finally get his driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the special called 16 Kids and Moving In.
On her daughter’s 15th birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote about how much joy her daughter brings to others. She described her as friendly and sociable, always eager to meet new people. Michelle also shared how much her younger sisters look up to her, and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be her mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
When her daughter Jennifer turned thirteen, Michelle described her as reliable, loyal, and a joy to be around. Jennifer is beloved by her younger cousins, who constantly want her to hold them! She also has a big heart for animals, diligently caring for her pets each day. Recently, she even helped raise a whole litter of seven bunnies!

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

Oh my gosh, Jordyn-Grace is just… radiant! Her mom described her back in 2019 as this incredibly friendly person who instantly connects with everyone. And her laugh? Seriously, it’s the absolute highlight of their day, always! It just lights up everything, you can tell she’s a natural joy to be around.

Josie Duggar, number 19 in her family, is pictured here with her niece, Meredith. She was born on December 10, 2009, three months early and weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces. She spent six months receiving care in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Michelle described her daughter, Josie, as incredibly energetic when she wrote a birthday message for her 11th birthday in 2020. She said Josie is always on the go, from the moment she wakes up until bedtime!
