Although Jujutsu Kaisen has finished its main story and its follow-up series, the author is now focusing on another popular manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. This has been a significant month for Jujutsu Kaisen, with the final volume of the sequel released in Japan and some hints about what the future holds. The author has confirmed this marks the end of this storyline, meaning fans shouldn’t expect new releases from Gege Akutami for a while as they begin work on their next project.
With the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, creator Gege Akutami has confirmed there will be no further continuation of the story. However, fans will still get to see more of Akutami’s artwork! To celebrate the success of Ei Yamano’s Someone Hertz, Akutami created a special sketch of one of the main characters, Kurage Mizuo—also known as “Eel Potato.” You can find the sketch below.
Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Shows Love to Someone Hertz

Ei Yamano’s manga, Someone Hertz, first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump last year and has quickly become very popular. The third volume recently launched in Japan and has already sold over 300,000 copies. To celebrate its success, Akutami created a special illustration for the series. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time these two franchises have crossed over – a character named Mahoraga previously appeared in a bonus included with one of the manga’s earlier volumes, making this a full circle moment for fans.
Shonen Jump’s “Someone Hertz” has become a surprising hit. It stands out from other series in the magazine because it’s a more relaxed and character-driven story. Instead of focusing on action or romance, it’s a heartwarming slice-of-life tale about two friends bonding over their shared love of a comedy radio show, and perhaps developing deeper feelings for each other. Fans are really enjoying its gentle and relatable approach.
How to Find Someone Hertz

Ei Yamano’s Someone Hertz launched in Shonen Jump last fall and has quickly become a huge success in Japan. It has significantly outsold other new series from 2025 and 2026, with no other titles coming close to its popularity. A key to its success is how unique it is – it’s a relaxing and humorous series that easily fits alongside other popular Jump titles.
This series is becoming very popular, and fans are already hoping for an anime adaptation. However, it will probably take some time before that happens. With fewer than 100 chapters currently available, the series needs to build a larger library of content before an animation studio would consider adapting it.
