The new movie, Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, is now out! It combines the exciting Shibuya Incident Arc with the start of Season 3. This release is building excitement for the next season, which will cover the challenging Culling Game arc – the longest and most intense storyline in the series. The movie is proving to be a hit with both fans and critics who are enjoying MAPPA’s animation. To celebrate, the series creator, Gege Akutami, has released a special short audio story called Juju Sanpo, focusing on the main characters. This Juju Sanpo might not be continued, as it’s a one-time release. Fans will remember Juju Sanpo from Season 1, where it featured extra scenes of the characters at Jujutsu Tech.
These moments weren’t part of the original manga; they were added by the anime creators and offered a sweet break from the show’s generally dark and serious tone. Sadly, the anime series ‘Juju Sanpo,’ which featured these scenes, only lasted one season, possibly due to production challenges or the show’s quick pace. The upcoming third season will likely focus entirely on the consequences of the Shibuya Incident, meaning we probably won’t see similar heartwarming scenes. However, the author, Gege Akutami, has included one more touching interaction between the three main characters in the manga, giving fans a little bit of warmth.
What Happens in the Latest Juju Sanpo?

The newest installment of Juju Sanpo is an audio drama, a different format than fans usually see. It features the original voice actors for Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi, and follows the trio as they go to a movie after facing some tough challenges from the constant dangers in Japan. Based on the promotional art – Nobara isn’t wearing her eye patch, and Yuji doesn’t have the scars from his fight with Mahito – the story takes place before the intense events of the Shibuya Incident Arc.
The video is in Japanese and doesn’t have English subtitles, so a well-known fan translator on X, @soukatsu_, provided some context. The scene shows three characters with two hours to kill before a movie. They struggle to agree on an activity, eventually deciding on a restaurant Nobara enjoys, only to find it’s closed – which frustrates Nobara. Yuji suggests watching another movie, but Nobara asks Megumi for a recommendation, even though he doesn’t seem very interested.
The group agrees to Yuji’s idea, but then they run into another issue: nobody wants the middle seat because that person has to hold the popcorn for everyone. They decide the unlucky person with a game of rock-paper-scissors, and Megumi loses. The scene shows Yuji and Nobara teasing him as he glumly looks at his hands. You can now see Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in U.S. theaters – get your tickets soon!
