Now that season 3 has finished, fans are already wondering what will happen in season 4 of Jujutsu Kaisen, which will likely continue the story of the Culling Game.
The anime returned earlier this year after a significant hiatus, putting Yuji Itadori and his friends in a dangerous competition orchestrated by Kenjaku.
Similar to what happened with season 2, the Culling Game arc is being released in two parts to ensure consistently great animation quality.
After a long and exciting conclusion to the Sendai Colony arc, viewers are wondering what’s next for Jujutsu Kaisen. Here’s an update on season 4, including when Part 2 of the Culling Games might start, and a recap of what happened in the second half of season 3.
When could Jujutsu Kaisen season 4 be released?
We don’t know exactly when The Culling Game Part 2 will be released, but there are hints about a possible release timeframe.
Everyone originally thought season 3 would be released like season 2 – in two parts, with a three-month break between them.
This made fans think the first part of The Culling Games might come out in the summer of 2026, potentially around July, with the second part following shortly after.
However, it now appears more likely that we can expect a later release date.
Now that Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has finished airing in Japan, the time slot it used on TV has been taken by other shows for the remainder of 2026.
That would mean the earliest time JJK could reclaim that spot for season 4 would be in early 2027.
I’m just sharing my thoughts right now, and it’s important to remember this is all just guessing until Studio MAPPA officially confirms anything. We’ll have to wait for their announcement to know for sure.
What happened to Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 part 2?
Originally, Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 was expected to be split into two parts, like with season 2.
After episode 12 of the latest season aired, many fans thought episode 13 would follow quickly. However, it looks like there will be a delay.
The official Jujutsu Kaisen anime account announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the latest episode, “Sendai Colony,” is the final episode of Season 3.
Season 4, titled ‘The Culling Game Part 2,’ will show what happens to Itadori and his friends as they continue to try and stop the game. More information will be released soon, so stay tuned.
MAPPA has decided to skip producing a second part of season 3 and is moving directly into season 4.
