Just a heads-up: this contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! I’ve been following Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo since it started in Weekly Shonen Jump three months ago, and it’s already past the halfway point. This sequel was planned as a short series, likely wrapping up in around six months with only a few volumes. While there’s no official end date yet, recent chapters definitely suggest we’re heading towards a somewhat sad ending. One thing that’s been on my mind is how the Simurians – this alien race – even got to Japan, especially considering over 50,000 of them made the trip!
The Simurians have powers similar to those who practice Jujutsu, and their sudden arrival in large numbers put the entire Jujutsu world on high alert. The situation was classified as a top-level threat, comparable to the danger posed by Ryomen Sukuna, history’s strongest sorcerer. However, contrary to initial fears, the Simurians weren’t looking for a fight; they wanted to find a way to live peacefully with humans. Sadly, negotiations were disrupted by a serious incident, and now a resolution seems out of reach. As tensions escalate, the most recent chapter, number 14, reveals how the Simurians traveled to Earth.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Explains Why Maru Is Special

Maru is a key character and a skilled Simurian who quickly befriended Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. Now that conflicts have arisen between their groups, Maru intends to carry out his responsibilities as a warrior. He’s deeply upset about the possibility of losing his brother, Cross, who was tragically killed by Jujutsu sorcerer Yakumaru out of fear. With a battle looming between Yuka Okkotsu and Dabura, Tsurugi confronts Maru, hoping to drive the aliens away from their homeland.
This chapter explains how Maru enabled the Simurians’ incredible journey – they were forced to leave their home planet due to a civil war. That planet holds a unique ore capable of transforming cursed energy into usable power, and it was the source of the conflict between the Deskunte and Rumelians.
Tsurugi realized that Maru’s ability to combine his skills with Mul was the key to bringing thousands of Simurians to Japan. This combination also allowed them to learn Japanese, helping them integrate into society. The latest chapter revealed the specifics of Maru’s technique, and it’s clear it’s incredibly powerful – capable of achieving what seemed impossible.
