Ever since the announcement of the July 22nd Pokemon Presents, many fans assumed they knew what to anticipate. Given that Pokémon Legends Z-A is set for release in October and details about Pokemon Champions have been scarce since its unveiling, it seemed likely we’d focus on those releases. However, The Pokemon Company has recently hinted at something different entirely. Earlier this week, a social media post displayed Pikachu peering curiously at a DJ booth, implying he was “cooking up something.” Now, we have a clearer understanding of what that secret project entails.
Today, the Japanese Pokemon account on X unveiled the significance behind their teaser. On July 22nd, there will be a special pre-show for Pokemon Presents, featuring DJ Pikachu. The event starts at 8 AM EDT, an hour before the main Pokemon Presents. It’s called “Everyone Gather! DJ Pikachu Live!” It seems that Pikachu will be spinning tunes as a DJ during this stream. Whether it will be animated or live-action with a Pikachu costume remains to be seen.
Countdown to the airing of “Pokémon Presents” is just 3 days left! It seems Chicorita is also eagerly waiting. Additionally, starting at 9:00 PM on the same day, a pre-event program titled “Everyone Gather! DJ Pikachu Live” will be broadcasted on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. Let’s all get ready and tune in together for the premiere of “Pokémon Presents”!

It’s plausible that the previous announcement was merely setting the stage for the DJ Pikachu streaming news, but many enthusiasts remain convinced that Pikachu spinning discs is most likely a hint for something more to come. Fans have been brainstorming various ideas about what this additional thing might be.
Fan Theories About What DJ Pikachu Is All About
As a dedicated gamer, I eagerly awaited the first glimpse of what was being teased, with dreams of a Pokémon rhythm game dancing in my head. Though rhythm games might be considered a bit niche, they’ve certainly gained some popularity over time. Given that Pokémon has been collaborating on music projects quite frequently lately, and boasts an impressive catalog of tunes, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a captivating Pokémon rhythm game.
Indeed, other enthusiasts interpreted the hint about DJ equipment as a confirmation of the anticipated remakes of Pokemon Black and White. However, with the knowledge that DJ Pikachu is involved, it appears less probable now. Yet, fans of Unova remain hopeful, and I’m wishing you the best of luck in your endeavors.
Other theories propose that DJ Pikachu might be hinting towards an update for Cafe Remix rather than a brand new type of Pokemon game. A supporter speculates, “Gather at the DJ Pikachu concert to discover more about the upcoming Cafe Remix refresh.” I must admit, the concept of DJ Pikachu aligns well with the Cafe Remix format.
A different supporter speculates that the hint could involve incorporating classic Pokemon tunes onto the Nintendo Music application. Meanwhile, others suspect it’s a sneak peek for another upcoming music partnership for the brand. Naturally, when we spot a Pikachu in a costume, we envision possibilities with Pokemon Go too.
At present, Pokemon enthusiasts can only engage in guesswork. The truth about whether the DJ Pikachu stream is the extent of the teaser will be revealed shortly. The Pokemon Presents event is just around the corner, set to broadcast on the official Pokemon channels at 9 AM EDT.
