‘Just Cinematically Beautiful’: Lindsay Lohan Hails This $367M Film the Best Movie of the Year

Lindsay Lohan recommends seeing the new movie Sinners twice – and not only because of Michael B. Jordan’s performance as twins. The actress, known for playing dual roles as sisters Hallie and Annie in the 1998 film The Parent Trap, believes Sinners is a great movie about twins.

Lindsay Lohan recently praised Ryan Coogler’s new film, Sinners, saying she’s watched it multiple times since its April release. She told Gold Derby the movie was “incredible” and “cinematically beautiful.”

“It was just such a great movie,” she continued. “Oh my God, it was so great.”

The star of Freakier Friday isn’t the only one receiving praise. Sinners currently has a very high 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics, including Ann Hornaday from The Washington Post, have highlighted its impressive visuals and “stunning production values.”

In a review for Sinners, Ann Hornaday praised the film’s captivating and otherworldly portrayal of how we’re shaped by the past but still have the potential for growth. The film is expected to receive multiple nominations at the next Academy Awards, according to Variety, and audiences have given it a high 96% rating on the Popcornmeter.

Lindsay Lohan Also ‘Loved’ One Battle After Another

Lohan also praised Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, One Battle After Another, during a recent interview. She said she “loved” the thriller, especially the performance of newcomer Chase Infiniti, who she felt stood out alongside established stars like Sean Penn and Regina King. Lohan noted that it’s challenging for a new actor to appear in a film with such talent, and described Infiniti as a “beautiful girl” who seemed like a seasoned professional.

Lohan previously collaborated with Anderson on the 2006 film Prairie Home Companion and expressed her eagerness to work with him again. She stated, “[Anderson] is a director I’d love to collaborate with again. Let’s make it happen.”

Lindsay Lohan’s wish to work with Darren Criss isn’t the only way she’s revisited her time in the popular early 2000s movie musical. She explained that her experience acting alongside Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin in Prairie Home Companion helped her connect with and guide the younger cast members.

She remembered how incredibly nervous she was when she first worked with Meryl Streep on Prairie Home Companion. She recalled being terrified to sing in front of Streep, Lily Tomlin, and Paul Thomas Anderson, but they immediately put her at ease. She added that she hoped to provide the same supportive and encouraging environment for the young actresses on the project.

Even though Jamie Lee Curtis had already been helping new cast members, Lindsay Lohan wanted to be a supportive resource for them as well. She made a point of encouraging everyone to feel comfortable asking questions, telling them, ‘This is a fun, relaxed environment – feel free to ask anything. There’s no pressure here.’

You can watch Sinners on HBO Max. And if you’re in the mood for a classic, Freaky Friday is streaming on Disney+.
