The highly anticipated anime, Kagurabachi, is almost here! The first episode will premiere early for a select group of fans on a world tour starting this July. Fans of Takeru Hokazono’s manga have been eagerly awaiting this adaptation, and while the full anime series isn’t scheduled to release until 2027, a sneak peek will be shown much sooner.
Following the announcement of the Kagurabachi anime adaptation this spring, a special world tour for the first episode was hinted at. Now, CyberAgent has confirmed the first stop: the first 20 minutes of Kagurabachi Episode 1 will premiere early at Anime Expo 2026 this July. The event will also feature staff and cast members.
Kagurabachi Episode 1 World Tour Dates Confirmed
The world tour for Kagurabachi will begin at Anime Expo 2026 on Friday, July 3rd, with a preview of the first 20 minutes of Episode 1. Fans will be able to see the episode and meet star Taihi Kimura (who plays Chihiro Rokuhira) and producer Koichi Yasuda. The tour will continue with appearances at Japan Expo on July 9th, AnimagiC on August 1st, and AnimeNYC on August 22nd, giving fans multiple chances to see the premiere before the full series launches next year.
The anime adaptation of Kagurabachi is scheduled to premiere in April 2027 as part of the spring anime season. While a specific release date and details about where to watch outside of Japan haven’t been announced yet, Tetsuya Takeuchi will direct the series, and Keigo Sasaki is handling the character designs. More information about the production team is expected to be revealed during upcoming events before the end of the year, as the 2027 premiere approaches.
Kagurabachi Creator Reacts to New Anime

When the anime was announced, creator Takeru Hokazono mentioned the famous fight between Rock Lee and Gaara in Naruto. He said while the manga version of that fight is good, the anime version is truly spectacular. He then excitedly revealed that the director who animated that iconic Naruto scene is also directing their anime! Hokazono expressed his confidence in the staff’s deep understanding of the source material and is eager to see the final animated product, calling it a series not to be missed.
Director Tetsuya Takeuchi expressed similar excitement, recalling his journey from a new animator on Naruto to leading a popular Shonen Jump anime. He shared, “You never know where life will take you!” Takeuchi described Kagurabachi as a series defined by swords, compelling characters, and dramatic moments. He’s committed to bringing all of these elements to the anime, aiming to create a show that will appeal to both existing manga fans and newcomers, though he admits he feels a lot of pressure to deliver.
