Secret Cinema has created a fully immersive experience based on the movie, taking guests back in time to Rydell High! Expect thrilling rides, detailed sets, and live performances that bring the film to life.
The actors for the upcoming performances have been revealed! Wilson will be taking on the role of the Teen Angel, a part made famous by Frankie Avalon in the movie. As part of the show’s eight-week run, the former coach on The Voice UK will perform the song “Beauty School Dropout” each night.
I was so excited to read Wilson’s statement! He revealed he’s always had a connection to this musical – apparently, he played Doody in Grease back in school and has been wanting a do-over ever since. It sounds like he had a bit of a crush on the girl who played Frenchie at the time, and felt he deserved a bigger role! He jokingly said that none of his old castmates became professional singers, so this is his chance to really shine and prove what he could have done. Honestly, it’s such a fun story and I can’t wait to see him take on the challenge.
He recently told TopMob that the show is going to be a lot of fun. He described it as inclusive, with the audience actively involved, and added that you can’t go wrong with a classic like Grease.

It’s not exactly a film that makes a lot of logical sense, and honestly, as someone approaching 50, I remember the cast looking like they were around my age when it came out! But here’s the thing – every new generation discovers Grease and falls in love with it. It’s genuinely remarkable how it continues to capture the hearts of audiences, even today.
Wilson described the show as a way to test whether he’d enjoy musical theatre. He admitted he was now feeling the pressure to deliver on all the confident talk he’d done about his abilities. He said he was quite nervous, but acknowledged that a little nervousness is what makes life interesting.
The singer explained that performing solo is much more demanding than playing with the Kaiser Chiefs. He said that while fans enjoy it when the band makes mistakes, he needs to deliver a flawless performance every time he’s on stage alone.
The Kaiser Chiefs rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a key band in the English indie rock scene, releasing popular songs like “I Predict a Riot,” “Ruby,” and “Everyday I Love You Less and Less.” They recently marked 20 years since their first album, Employment, with a tour, and will continue performing across the UK with a series of outdoor concerts this summer.
Wilson is famous for connecting with audiences during his performances, and that ability will be perfect for creating an engaging atmosphere at this event.
He explained his motivation by saying that engaging the audience keeps the performance fun for both him and those who came to see him. He feels it’s his responsibility to include them, as their participation makes the show vibrant and creates a unique energy that can’t be replicated in any other way.
The singer will share the stage with Stephanie Costi, who will play Sandy, Giórgios Michaelídes as Danny, Lucy Penrose as Rizzo, and Archangelo Ciulla as Kenickie.
The show begins at Evolution London in Battersea Park with performances running from July 22nd to September 13th. Tickets can be purchased on the official website.
