Kate Hudson and Brenda Song Tease Kids’ Potential Careers

Kate Hudson’s and Brenda Song’s kids may be running toward the big screen someday.

The stars of Running Point talked about whether their kids might choose careers in the entertainment industry, just like them.

In a recent interview with TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi, Kate spoke alongside Brenda and Mindy Kaling, co-creator of Running Point. Kate stated simply, “I don’t see a way out of it.”

Brenda, who shares four-year-old Dakota and three-year-old Carson with her fiancé Macaulay Culkin, said she completely agreed, stating, “There’s no way.”

My children are very young, just three and five years old. But I can already tell my three-year-old is going to be a handful, and I’m a little worried about it.

Kate, who has three children – 22-year-old Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson, 14-year-old Bingham with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, and 7-year-old Rani with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa – believes her family was naturally suited for the entertainment industry.

It feels like my family always ends up performing – either acting out a scene or breaking into dance,” she said with a laugh. “I guess it’s just in our genes!”

It’s really remarkable,” she said. “Everyone in my family seems to be involved in the entertainment industry, or at least has a natural talent for performing and storytelling. It’s just in our blood, it seems.”

The actress, whose mother is Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell – both famous actors – has noticed a pattern of acting in her family. However, she and her family emphasize that a passion for performing is essential for anyone considering a career in show business.

“In our family, love it,” Kate said. “If you don’t love it, get out.” 

The 46-year-old woman said her family is realistic about the ups and downs of the entertainment industry, understanding it can be quite unpredictable.

Kate explained that true passion means embracing even the difficult times – like finding ways to afford things like school for your children. When you genuinely love what you do, you’ll always know it’s the right path, and you’ll find a way to make it work.
