Kate Hudson’s Son Ryder Towers Over Her at Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Kate Hudsonturned the 2026 Oscars into a golden mother-son outing.

After the awards show, the actress from Song Sung Blue, despite not winning after Jessie Buckley of Hamnet took home the Best Actress award, appeared cheerful at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, where she was joined by a special guest.

Kate attended a red carpet event with her son, Ryder Robinson, whom she shares with her former husband, Chris Robinson. The 22-year-old Ryder was noticeably taller than his mother as they posed for photos together, both wearing black outfits, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on March 15.

Kate, 46, wore a glittering black Gucci dress with a stylish cutout that showed off her toned midriff. Ryder looked handsome in a classic black tuxedo, completed with a white shirt and a subtly colored ribbon tie.

Kate wasn’t the only family member at the Oscars. Her mother, Goldie Hawn, accompanied her, marking a special return to the Dolby Theatre. Goldie had previously won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1970 for her role in Cactus Flower, almost fifty years prior.

Oh my gosh, did you SEE Goldie and Kate at the Conan O’Brien show?! They were absolutely breathtaking! Goldie wore this incredible black gown, all sparkly and gorgeous – it was a Grayseful by Maria Lopez, if you were wondering, because I immediately looked it up! And Kate? Mint green! A stunning mint green Armani Privé gown with the prettiest little peplum waist. I seriously couldn’t take my eyes off of them, they looked like actual royalty!

I was absolutely mesmerized by Kate Hudson’s jewelry at the event! But honestly, it was the incredible green diamonds from Garatti that really stole the show. We’re talking 41 carats of rare stones – a stunning necklace and earrings worth a reported $35 million! It was truly breathtaking.

Kate, who has a 14-year-old son named Bingham with her ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and a 7-year-old daughter named Rani with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, revealed that she originally planned to bring her mom to the event. She hadn’t immediately decided Danny would be her date.

She jokingly mentioned on the Actor’s Side podcast in February that she’s hoping her mom will be her date to the Oscars. While she loves her boyfriend, Danny, she said she feels her mom might need to be her plus one, but she’ll have to see how things work out. She added, ‘We’ll see if that happens, it would be nice!’
