Kate Middleton and Prince William are getting a fresh start.
Following three years of staying at Adelaide Cottage in Kensington Palace, it was confirmed by the palace to People that the couple has located a different abode for their children – Prince George (12), Princess Charlotte (10), and Prince Louis (7) – to settle down in.
The Wales family is reportedly planning to relocate to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom property that’s only a few miles away from their current home in Windsor. According to The Sun, Prince William and Kate Middleton aim to complete this move by the end of the year, and they hope to continue residing there even after William turns 43 and becomes King.
The family of five will not be moving into Forest Lodge as their new home until some minor renovations are completed. As reported by The Sun, the couple is covering the expenses for the move and rental costs, ensuring no additional burden to the taxpayer. Interestingly, they won’t have any live-in staff at their new residence.
While residing in Adelaide Cottage for the past three years, the Wales family experienced some wonderful moments, yet they also faced and overcame their most difficult trials, such as both Kate and King Charles III receiving a cancer diagnosis.
As Charles battles his illness, Kate announced that she’s been in remission since January.
Now that I’m in remission, I’m finding comfort in my journey towards healing,” the 43-year-old expressed in a message on January 14. “Those who have battled cancer can attest – adapting to a changed routine takes patience and time.
After completing her cancer treatments, the Princess of Wales has openly discussed the challenges she’s faced while adapting to life’s “new normal.
In July, as reported by People, I shared that during treatment, I wore a mask of resilience, a stoic facade. However, once the treatment was over, I realized that the following period proved to be incredibly challenging. Despite feeling ready to resume normal life, I found this phase to be exceptionally tough.
She explained that adjusting to a new routine, or finding your ‘new normal,’ can be quite a journey and may not follow a straightforward path as you might anticipate. It’s likely to have ups and downs, much like riding a rollercoaster. The truth is, you’ll experience challenging periods during this process.

For every diagnosis and new case, it’s undeniably a challenging and sometimes terrifying journey for the affected individuals and their loved ones, as Charles mentioned in the booklet for the reception. As a lifestyle expert reflecting on a poignant moment, I find myself recalling a time when I shared an emotional experience with my peers – learning of the passing of the iconic Princess Diana.
