Katherine Schwarzenegger Gets in the “Spooky Spirit” With Rare Photos

Katherine Schwarzenegger will never terminate these ghostly memories.

With Halloween approaching, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt shared some of her cherished childhood traditions, and dressing up in costumes with her parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, was her favorite part.

Katherine, 35, shared on Instagram on October 28th that she’s embracing the Halloween season. She mentioned visiting pumpkin patches, wearing fun sticker jeans, and enjoying the excitement of Halloween with her kids. She also announced that the countdown to trick-or-treating had begun!

Katherine Schwarzenegger’s family always put a lot of effort into their Halloween costumes. She shared an old photo of herself and her sister, Christina Schwarzenegger, dressed as Barney and a fairy princess. The following year, Katherine went as a nurse, and her mother, Maria Shriver, perfectly portrayed the Evil Queen from Snow White.

Katherine and her brothers, Patrick Schwarzenegger, 32, and Christopher Schwarzenegger, 28, continued a family tradition by dressing up as Batman and Robin again this year. Their mother, Maria, went as Cruella de Vil, while their father, Arnold, 78, opted for a comfortable outfit of a black shirt and jeans. Arnold and Maria separated in 2011.

Now that Katherine Platonov, the writer of Good Night Sister, has her own family, she and her husband, Chris Pratt, are making new Halloween traditions with their children: Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and 11-month-old Ford. Katherine recently shared a cute photo of her daughters choosing pumpkins while wearing matching autumn outfits.

Katherine, who is also a stepmother to Chris’s 13-year-old son, Jack (from his marriage to Anna Faris), has often talked about how her own childhood experiences shape how she parents. She’s even shared a beloved hobby from her past with her children.

Katherine recently told Us Weekly that reading stories together is a highlight of being a parent. Her family intentionally limits screen time, preferring to encourage outdoor play, creativity, and a childhood similar to how she and her husband were raised.

As expected, she mentioned that reading and storytime are now a regular and important part of their everyday lives.

As a mom, one of the sweetest things is when my kids constantly ask me to read to them – it feels like they want stories all day long! It’s such a special time, and I’m really cherishing these moments. Right now, we’re also getting super excited for Halloween and counting down the days until they can show off their costumes! I’m seeing so many other parents getting into the spirit too, and it’s wonderful.
