Katie Bates Unveils Necklace Dedicated to Baby After Pregnancy Loss

Katie Bates is keeping her baby close to her heart.

It’s been so hard since learning about the loss of the baby, but as a big fan of hers, I was touched to hear how she’s keeping the memory alive. She recently shared that she finds little ways to honor the baby every single day, and it’s just beautiful to see her navigating this with such grace.

Katie revealed on her Instagram Stories on April 4th that a necklace given to her by her sister holds deep meaning. She explained, according to screenshots from Us Weekly, that she received it after suffering a miscarriage in January.

She explained that the charm, featuring angel wings and a peridot – the birthstone for August – represented their beloved baby who is now in Heaven. ‘Always in our hearts,’ she said, displaying the delicate necklace.

The past few months have been challenging for the 25-year-old, who is recovering from a miscarriage. She and her husband, Travis Clark, are parents to Hailey, 3, and Harvey, 18 months.

She shared a video showing her early pregnancy and expressing her sadness, writing on Instagram on January 16th, “I will miss you forever.”

Just one day later, her husband of four years confessed to cheating on her.

It’s difficult to say this, but I need to be honest and apologize,” Travis, 25, shared on Instagram. “I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and betrayed her trust multiple times. There’s no justification for my actions. I take full responsibility for what I did; it was entirely my fault.

He continued, saying he knew his words couldn’t fully convey how much he’d hurt her. He was deeply sorry for the pain, embarrassment, and betrayal he caused his wife with his actions. He understood that simply apologizing wasn’t enough to fix things, and he didn’t expect or deserve her forgiveness.

Katie remembered starting 2026 while still deeply upset about her miscarriage and Travis confessing to cheating.

In a recent Instagram post on January 19th, she shared that this is a very difficult time for her and her family. She revealed that her marriage has suffered greatly and that her trust has been broken. She’s currently focusing on healing and prioritizing her children and their future, taking things one day at a time.

Over the next few months, the former reality TV personality chose to attend a four-day therapy program.

In February, Katie shared on Instagram that she was seeking support because she didn’t feel capable of dealing with a personal challenge alone. She explained that she needed to prioritize her own well-being to be able to effectively focus on other things.

She’s grateful to have her family’s strong support. As she shared, being a mother to Hailey and Harvey and rediscovering everyday joys has been incredibly stabilizing for her.

William “Gil” Bates, a wrestling champion from South Carolina, met his future wife, Kelly Callaham, while they both attended Anderson University in South Carolina. Kelly was assigned to tutor Gil in chemistry, and they quickly connected. They became engaged in October 1987 while finishing their studies at Carson-Newman University in Tennessee and married two months later. Although they hadn’t planned on a large family, they chose not to use birth control, trusting that God would determine how many children they had. Gil later told Dateline in 2011 that they initially expected to have only two or three children.

Their first child, Zachary Bates, was born shortly after their wedding, and in 2012, they welcomed their 19th child, a son named Jeb Bates. When it comes to remembering all their children’s names, Kelly jokes that her husband, Gil, who owns Bates Tree Service, has a better memory than she does.

Kelly wrote on Instagram in December 2020 that Jud Bates, who joined the team on September 15, 2010, has quickly matured. He’s faced a couple of injuries, breaking his right collarbone twice – once while playing football and again while riding his e-bike.
